The only coaches I'm okay with hiring at this point are Gundy and Fisher... the rest mentioned may be good hires, but they have only had 1 good season each, and would be a huge gamble at this point in the program. Gundy is my favorite, Fisher 2nd.

What has he said thats wrong? Has been pretty accurate so far.

I was a member of that site almost from the beginning. I dropped out a couple of years ago. Getting anything breaking from Hubbs before it is officially released is like nailing jello to the wall. He rarely if ever breaks a story. Just not his style.

I think Gundy is simply a raise interview. Boone will keep him there.

This will be my last post til probably this coming weekend
There has been a reason I've posted everything I have. I'll explain it all after the announcement.
Just trust what I told u guys early on about media being a smokescreen.....well they weren't only one being a smokescreen. It's a great time to be a Vol. If what I told you early on is wrong I'll leave the board and u will never have to hear from me again.

Here we go again..

I have stated before that I feel Fisher would be a very poor hire. What has he accomplished at FSU? He has certainly recruited elite talent there - FSU has the best talent in the ACC. Beyond that his coaching has been average at best - he should be dominating the ACC with that talent, yet it has not happened.

In addition, I am not convinced his recruiting will carry over to UT. I certainly could be wrong, but recruiting to LSU under Saban and at one of the big 3 FL schools might exaggerate his recruiting ability. Would he be better than Dooley? Absolutely, but not someone who will win big in the SEC. Honestly, if you cannot win by out-talenting teams in the ACC what do you expect him to do against the big boys in the SEC with equal to greater talent (assuming his elite recruiting does carry over)?

This . . . plus lets face it. With anyone but a Gruden type, UT will be out-recruited by Bama, UF, UGA, A&M, Maybe South Carolina, Auburn etc every year. That's just the unfortunate fact.

Coaching matters to beat those teams because out-recruiting them is not a guarantee with anybody.

I am not 100% sold its Gruden, but I also think the way things are happening it all points to Gruden.

Weird how the day after Nooga paper posted article, **** got shot down and coaches were being interviewed all of a sudden. I know a lot of current coaches just ended season, but still come on.

I have been a member of this site for a long time and know "who's,who". I know some of the posters still sold on Gruden would not think so without some kind of legit info. (Lex, OV75, babybol even though he is on TOS).

Let's hope its Gruden, IF it is not let's hope Hart makes a great hire. I would have to say this is one of the biggest hires in Tennessee football history.

Fingers crossed!! :crossfingers:

I would have no problem with either one of those..Not homerun hires, just solid hires,IMO.

I don think babyvol is on the Gru train, but I think on a different train. One you will not beleive at this time. I have a feeling. Thats all. But I think we are really going to like this in the end.

Care to explain?

Number one: I don't have a humble opinion, I have very intelligent and coherent ones.
Number two: I hate the college in Tuscaloosa so much I refuse to buy so much as a candy bar in the state because I won't let any tax dollars flow to higher education there.
Number three: I wanted JG in 2009.

Having said that; this. My brother is a faculty member at TCU. Got text this morning of a rift in the athletic dept. Patterson may (may) be in play. I'll be watching.

I could live with that.

Why have we abandoned the fire Hart, hire Fulmer talk. I was really enjoying that.

i think this will be the outcome if hart got in the way. i dont think that fulmer would be named interm coach. they would announce hart replacement with fulmer more likely. they would then leave cheney in control as he is until gruden is ready? remember, haslams have billions, not millions. if u piss them off , well lets just say, i dont want to be on that end.

The longer this carries out, the stronger the pulse gets on the Gruden scenario. It's like Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees. Hart won't kill it, and it refuses to die on its own.
