Sandy, believe or not I actually heard someone inside the AD float this suggestion yesterday. I don't really pay attention to them right now bc they've been so far out of the loop. But to them it makes more sense than the notion he was actually a real candidate.

Wow! I'm just enjoying trying to figure out this whole puzzle. Can't wait to see how this ends!

Hey Old Vol, Just so info on an old friend of yours that played basketball for UT when you were here.... J. Darden just coached his last b-ball game for our HS, he isn't retiring from teaching, just b-ball. He is the all time assist leader for UT 715 carreer asst.

In my opinion Dooley was going to continue to coach so long as he made a bowl game. I think that is the reason Basilio was smoke screening about Hart trying to rehab Dooley and keep Dooley (which was absurd logic if it were true). That was going to be the logic by letting Dooley hang on and coach the bowl game. Then he would have been canned after the bowl game.

Dooley wasn't canned until he was for sure not going to a bowl game even though I think he was told a few weeks earlier he would not be retained regardless.

Grew up in clarksville, watched Johny darden single handely beat Northwest high School located in Montogmery County. Northwest had a great team with 2 of the top gaurds in the state at that time, Darden destroyed them. Go Vols:rock:
