Maybe because ESPN and several outlets ran with the story with no denial from anyone. Hubbs reported that JG was contacted and preliminary talks. Reported someone in AD quoted as JG saying it wasn't the right move for him or his family.
I would love to see Gruden's MNF contract. It is highly possible that he can leave for a coaching job, BUT that he cannot accept such a job during a given season. In other words, he has to finish this season at MNF beofre he can accept any coaching job.
His Bucs payments could be an issue too.
If that is the case, it would explain a lot.

LaMonte has been an agent for years. Why no "official" statement to major media.....
I'm done trying to belabor a point that the truth is right in front of us.
Goes both ways...People believe whatever media fits their hope and belief.LaMonte has been an agent for years. Why no "official" statement to major media.....

If the harsh statement reported was erroneous then I would think LaMonte and/or Gruden would have replied quickly!
Tell me what else would have been more acceptable for hushing the crowds if Gruden had to wait longer until accepting the job.
