I see what you are saying. I think when this first started with Gruden there were several people in the know. Its like anywhere the more people that know the larger chance it has of getting out. This is probably where so many people on this site had inside info.

Ya know the theory of us waiting on him to make a transitions from the espn booth to UT makes me think about his comments on the mike and mike show. Something like "I'm just trying to keep the job I have now"

The TFP was probably just good old fashioned reporting.

If the source was a coach that Gruden had spoken to about being on staff, then I am not sure what the motive would have been on reporting it.

So say what you want folks, but I think we have been given false information throughout this process to protect the parties and their situations. My friend has never been unreliable in the 30+ years we have known each other. As to who this coach is? He has never come out and given me the name, but you do your own math. I choose to believe its the coach I want, but who really knows. As a note, when i asked him about all the reports about this coach and his agents comments and our schools comments, he only stated that "has an official announcement from either party involved been released? or have these been reports, sources or agents (attorney) making these. Not trying to start a coup, just wanting my Vol family to try to stand fast. It Is GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL!!!!

Seems we have been misdirected from the initial press conference after DD firing.
Our coaching choice was contacted sometime before DD was fired (don't know when exactly). We have put info out about coaching searches and meetings (unconfirmed). I don't know of any confirmed meets or interviews, the ones I have seen have come back denied, please correct me if I have missed something. My friend was informed by his information people that the ball is in our coaches hands and the time will be set by him to set the announcement date. But media leaks have apparently been calculated. Does this sound like a possibility? I am Not an informant, source or anything special, just a Volunteer!!!!

Not trying to piss on anyones parade, but this has already been discussed RE: previous Gruden threads...we knew the deal was done since before Dools was fired...and yes we are waiting on a time frame...a window of that coaches choice...

Does anyone here follow the sports editor at the TFP on twitter @jgreesontfp ? He said something interesting lastnight with a dude by the handle of @awbovol - to the effect of not hearing the end of the talks with Grude. On mobile, and can't link, but its out there in the twittershere...

I am glad people are now using their heads again about this. Nothing that came out on Friday added up, but at least it got the negative people out of this great thread, and we can have a civil discussion now. They can stay in their threads now, and just make fun of us, but I still believe.

There isn't much out there that I am seeing that doesn't point to us getting some lackluster coach as of right now. Especially since Gruden's agent.

When you say "changing of the guard" are you referring to the UT FB HC position or the AD or some other administrative position? We'd all love to hear more details of what you know on this issue. :hi:

I no longer think that Gruden is coming but part of me still has a little bit of hope...if he comes...and that is a ginormous IF, this will be the biggest troll job on the press as a whole that I have ever seen...

At this point I just want the darn search to be over...to know that Hart doesn't believe he should be in a hurry PISSES ME OFF!

I am under the impression that nothing happened. It's like when an entire classroom gets out of control in elementary school: the teacher punishes them all and puts them in time out to control them and prepare them for their next 'learning' installment.

That's what I think we're getting here. I'm still 100% behind my sources and getting Gruden.

Here is my only issue with trusting sources: my best sources told me the deal was off before it became public. So either they are trying to shut everybody up, or something happened to derail things. I'm not basing anything off of media reports, though they do seem bad in their totality.

I will say this, and it is strange. I went back and read some texts talking about AD. I didn't get the whole exchange (3 of us on the stream) and couldnt get it clarified. But I thought I picked up a question asking what the problem was, and basically there WAS NOT really a problem, except some references to not wanting to play cards with AD. so there's that...

Wouldn't be surprised if some of these people were actually posting info from AD to try and throw everyone off the real truth!!!
