I'm not quite sure exactly what you're asking, but reference my earlier posts.

We have to realize and understand that the people working on this thing and the people behind it are not like us.

They have more power and control than you and I could ever imagine harnessing. They are the operators behind the water wheel: they decide when, how, and how much water flows through it.

None of those are what I'm talking about..

I wish I could be of more assistance but it was on one of the last couple Gruden threads.

It’s worth remembering that while we think UT would like to have this search settled by the end of this week, we’ve also recently heard that UT athletic director Dave Hart told at least one person we know that he wasn’t necessarily in a hurry with this hire, and that he wanted to make sure UT got the right guy for the job. That doesn’t necessarily jive with Hart telling prominent UT boosters that they wouldn’t have to wait long after the season finale against Kentucky to know who would be the Vols’ next coach ... but, when you think about it, late this week would still seem to be a middle ground that wasn’t “too long” but wasn’t hurried.

If Hart really is trying to let it leak that they are not in a real rush that goes in Gruden being the guy's favor. If he does want to finish out the year I could see this being the beginning of the leak that stretches this thing out.

I would argue that it isn't any less credible than when people post stuff said by boro, doc or any more of these anonymous people with anonymous sources.

After reading the cliff notes, I am fully convinced that none of our local media knows what the **** is going on, and I don't think Gruden is over yet.

I wish someone could find the video cuz he's specifically addressing why he's not coming to TN

But these also make you think there's no way he would diss us like his agent did..

He was a grad assistant here and his wife graduated here. Add this to it and it makes no sense that he would let his agent be a jerk without addressing it.

We've deleted a good amount of things people have put on message boards and then were put in the cliffs notes version.

You just don't see them.

Just would not be smart if the true delay is for Gruden to transition from booth to field with minimal press exposure asking him a bunch of questions. Then for it to be released to two different sources a few days apart. This is what I am hung up on if I am supposed to believe it is a done deal and we are just in a holding pattern for Gruden's time frame. The only other thing would be if someone was trying to sabotage the deal by releasing the info. Heck, who knows...I sure don’t.

Ok here is my post from this morning:

New member. I post on here occasionally. I am a UT Grad '91. Love my school and my football program. I have relocated to Atlanta for my career but am a season ticket holder. I was even in the desert for the National Championship game. I also have a very very close friend employed by the University, will keep position nameless. I have a problem with how everything has shaken out. I was informed by my close friend 2 weeks ago that our coach was secured. Imagine my happiness when he clued me to this. With all the info and source statements and major media press statements, it counters everything that i was told. I contact my friend yesterday and he says, "I really have no idea what is going on here, AD locking everyone out and getting conflicting information from high ups in this situation". I ask him if his statement a couple of weeks ago about us securing our new coach was still good? He tells me to "be patient and let this all work itself out, other factors must be allowed to take place before we can officially annouce our coach, that is all I can say, job security". I trust my friend, hell he was my best man at my wedding. So say what you want folks, but I think we have been given false information throughout this process to protect the parties and their situations. My friend has never been unreliable in the 30+ years we have known each other. As to who this coach is? He has never come out and given me the name, but you do your own math. I choose to believe its the coach I want, but who really knows. As a note, when i asked him about all the reports about this coach and his agents comments and our schools comments, he only stated that "has an official announcement from either party involved been released? or have these been reports, sources or agents (attorney) making these. Not trying to start a coup, just wanting my Vol family to try to stand fast. It Is GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL!!!!

Latest info from same person:

Seems we have been misdirected from the initial press conference after DD firing.
Our coaching choice was contacted sometime before DD was fired (don't know when exactly). We have put info out about coaching searches and meetings (unconfirmed). I don't know of any confirmed meets or interviews, the ones I have seen have come back denied, please correct me if I have missed something. My friend was informed by his information people that the ball is in our coaches hands and the time will be set by him to set the announcement date. But media leaks have apparently been calculated. Does this sound like a possibility? I am Not an informant, source or anything special, just a Volunteer!!!!

The AD puts out nothing for weeks now we know everyone they supposedly interviewing doesn't seem right to me. When have we ever had coaching search and all the interviews times and places be let out this easily?
