Tennessee has not spoken at this point to FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher. I had mentioned earlier today that maybe it was possible for Tennessee to do two interviews today. I have no reason to believe they did a second interview and they definitely didn't talk to Fisher.

Things also seem to have gone quiet in Stillwater, OK after alot of people were chatty this morning.

Charlie Strong continues to indicate to people that he feels like his interview went really well.

SOOOOO, here we are again, we've all heard the reports that Strong wasn't even spoken to. So objectively we can still say that two weeks into the search that Hart has not interviewed 1 dam candidate. SMH

Man...lol.

Honestly...at this point, I believe that Hubbs should just stop speculating.

Seems almost everything he states turns out to be either false or speculative in itself.

Why do people pay for that site again?

I think that if Gruden is not the next coach, we should each get T-shirts made that say:

"I lived through 14 Grudens and all I got was a damn t-shirt"

Whenever any of us passes another on the street and sees the shirt, we can nod, ever so slightly, always knowing, but never acknowledging that we f¥*cked the whole thing up.

I like thr idea

No. You don't get it. I'm not talking all super-secret cia crap. Nobody is gonna get whacked, or arrested or anything, but there are jobs on the line from leaks. Not bigtime jobs, but normal white collar wage-earners that are fans the same as the rest of us.

The parties invloved... These people do not want or need their business known. I am just like everyone else, I want to know and I want to know now. But listen, things were getting good with JG. But when exact details (and I mean EXACT details) of things started getting out to general public... and the parties involved got wind of this from a friend of a friend, or a kid's friend, etc. Sh*t literally hit the fan. Some of the trails led back to "oh i read it on VN."

So. Bogus stories were leaked. These stories were designed to be leaked through different channels. These were typically minor news items related to JG, but the details in each one were changed just enough to know where it came from. The ones that got out, they could trace down through the chain and see where the hole or mole was. Many of these holes have now been plugged. This is a typical way to find a corporate leak. There are still a few that they can't track down. Don't know if they will ever find them (you know who you are ;) )

I'm telling you, all parties involved in the JG deal (as well as some other coaches camps) know about VN. A lot of sensitive information came through here. A LOT. No joke. I'm not saying someone is monitoring this site for IP addresses or anything. They just monitor to know what news is leaking and where to go to fix it.

The best example of this would be the Browns ownership stuff. Once that story broke, people started realizing it wouldn't be legal and was against NCAA regulations. But, that's the first story that broke, and that's where the whole thing went from being a rumor to, as stated above, $#!+ hitting the fan.

At the point, the AD had their leak, JG and LaMonte were pissed, Hart and the Boosters were pissed, and then comes the TFP article with actual facts in it. The deal went from a certain person leaking bogus facts to find and plug the leak to some one actually disclosing the current state of the deal. Hart and the boosters go into shut down mode. Hart tells all of the boosters who have been letting people, like the OG's and Babyvol, in on info to shut it down now, tell them the deal is off to get things quiet again. JG and LaMonte have historically made deals in secret, and they get spooked. That's the reason behind the false, yet harsh words from LaMonte released came from. The the deal "Takes an unexpected turn for the worse" and now Hart can carry out his search in peace.

However, All of these interviews that Hubbs and Hyams have been leaking have been debunked. As soon as they say it, we find out from another source that the coach "being interviewed" was at another event and could not have been interviewed during that time, or the AD of that school says they have not been contacted for permission for Hart to speak to the coach. None of it adds up, so that all points back to the million dollar question:

If Gruden coming to UT had been in the works for at least 2 months, which all of the reputable insiders believe, did the deal really die? If yes, Hart should be fired for this miserable fiasco he calls a coaching search. If no, Hart is one sly son of a gun and the boosters have all shut up to make sure they seal the deal.

Option #2 seems much more reasonable IMO.
