I'm back on the train. Nothing else makes sense. The $6 million/yr from UTK, the lack of any confirmed interviews, the absence of a real denial by UT or JG....I just think the time hasn't come yet.

Maybe I'm delusional after the past two weeks of media frenzy...we'll see.

Someone with a VQ account tell Hubbs that alot isn't a word. He is supposed to be a journalist and is a serial offender of doing this.

Sorry but Hubbs isn't a true journalist. I was with him for 10 years and I actually think he is solid with his info. I don't know that he has had the best info with this search but no one seems to know. But Hubbs is a radio guy and just started his website years ago. I am knocking him because people shouldn't expect him to be a journalist. He just runs a website and informs people about UT sports.

Hubbs said that Fisher was promised new facilities and the AD is no longer going to fulfill those promises. Another poster added a link to FSU breaking ground on new indoor practice field and football dorms (which I thought had been outlawed).

I don't have a clue what is going on here!

When were you there?

Seals are some bad-ass dudes. I was stationed early in my 22 years career at the amphib base attending LCVP school (learning to drive beach craft). I also worked with the Seals at several of my duty stations and I can't think of anyone I'd rather have on my side in a bad situation than one of them. Congrats to the person who's son is now a Navy Seal.:rock:

A very good Post. TAKE NOTE MONITORS AND PASS ON TO YOUR SUPERIORS!

A post from someone on VQ that I thought was worth sharing...

Quote:
John Brice, please respond to this if you don't mind.

I heard you tonight on The Nation. I enjoy the show. You said something on this show that really stuck with me. You said that "Jon Gruden is not the only coach who can win here." I agree with that 100%.

The problem is that going out and getting Jon Gruden represented much more than that to the Tennessee fan base. It's not about a guy who can get us back to 8 wins a year and occasionally contending. It's about confirming Tennessee as one of the premiere football programs in America. No matter what the financial cost or the risks involved, if this University had gone out of a limb, paid whatever it took, and brought Jon Gruden to head our football team the fans would have made it worth it. The support would have made what Bama is seeing now shrink in comparison. We feel like our football program has been taken from us, and we are all just waiting for an opportunity to buy in 100%. UT had an opportunity to make a statement, that we do not accept mediocrity and that we are so committed to winning that we are willing to do something unprecedented to bring in a guy no one else in the country thought we could hire.

So that's why the fans are upset. It wasn't just about hiring a football coach, it was about declaring ourselves for all to see as a national power who will not be downtrodden. That's exactly what Alabama did with Saban. They could have settled for someone else. They could have moped along and accepted the ups and downs until they found the next great guy. But they instead chose to go all in, wait forever, chase a coach who said NO NO NO NO over and over, and now look at them. We had the same opportunity, and we did not choose to make the same choice. And as someone who graduated from UT and loves this university that really sickens me.

I'll always love UT but the fact that UT chose, at this point in our history, to think small instead of shoot for the moon really makes me question just why I love it so much. I shouldn't care this much more than they do, and if they don't understand the mentality of this fanbase and exactly what the last few years has meant to those of us who bleed orange then what are we doing here?

Thanks.

I'll say it again (and I'm going by what OldVol has stated) Fisher is not leaving FSU unless it's Auburn. Even then, the money would have to be right.

This is what OV has been saying for weeks.

Even if they are building facilities, the ACC is on such shaky ground that he might be looking for any good opportunity to evacuate.

If it happens to not be Gruden, I would be very shocked if it wasn't Fisher. Not that I'm saying I want Fisher just TIFWIW

I've found it interesting that we're all unanimous on gruden, but all divided on plan B. I just hope we can all get behind whoever the hire is. Not trying to make a hero post, but this is the truth.
