How much is gruden getting from the bucs each year since 08?? Add that to what he's making from espn MNF and then we got the salary we need to offer to him to even consider coaching at UT....thoughts? Might be too much $$

Yep and they ended up with a top 10 class, but this isn't Alabama. We're no where near what the talent level at Alabama was when Saban came in. I guess it's not impossible, but they would be taking a really big risk only have 1 month to recruit. This upcoming class has to be solid or our on campus talent is going to be a critically low level.

I call BS.

Our roster is MUCH MUCH better than Jan 2010 when Dooley was hired.

The coaching hire is MUCH MUCH more important that the '13 recruiting class.

Sure ... even if it's only a little bit.

If you believe there's no hope, why are you here?

Look, I have no more to gain by downing anyone here for wanting Gruden or hanging on to Gruden than you have for downing me for asking the question or wanting to be on the thread.

I don't judge or condemn anyone here for hope or their dreams....

Personally I don't see Gruden coming to TN because he has said so and our AD has said that they are not pursuing him. Genius right? Takes out all the guess work.

Also, if you treat life by the way some posters treat these message boards by asking people to not comment or post on this thread when they don't agree with you or if they don't agree with what you said /hope for/ dream for, then your gonna find that your world will get really small really fast.

That comment literally made no sense. If this class coming up isn't solid then you can kiss competing for anything within a few years goodbye...Gruden or no Gruden.

What it means is don't settle for another Dooley waiting till Jan to get Gruden would be a steal of a deal.

Indeed, over the past two and a half weeks multiple sources tell OKTC that Franklin has been contacted by representatives from all three major job SEC openings, Auburn, Tennessee, and Arkansas to gauge his interest in interviewing for those job. On top of that multiple sources have told OKTC that Franklin was also contacted by California and Colorado about their open jobs. The Arkansas Razorbacks pursued Franklin the most aggressively, returning multiple times with more substantial offers to try and persuade him to the leave the Commodores after just two seasons at the helm.

Ultimately the Razorbacks offered nearly $5 million a year to Franklin, who rebuffed the offers in favor of a more substantial commitment from Vanderbilt.

I'm sorry, but there is no way in hell that Arkansas offered Franklin 5 mil a year. There is no way anybody can ever make me believe that. That is more than anybody outside of Saban and Mack Brown.

If it was true, and it's not, but if it were, then people in Arkansas are even more stupid than I could have imagined. And that is saying something coming from me.

Neither Gruden, nor Hart have personally said anything.

For all non believers Saban himself said "I will not be the next Coach at Alabama" more than once . Gruden and agent are no where near that type of statement .
