The fact that gruden has not denied this job 100% keeps me believing. Tonight will be the decider for me. If gruden truly is out of the picture there is no reason he cant squash the rumors on espn. If he is in play, he will keep his mouth shut
Simple as that.

Think about it

Not sure why people think Gruden is going to say anything on MNF if it doesn't purtain to the game. It (MNF) is not the forum for that. He has a job to do and I'm pretty certain he takes that in a serious and professional manner. Not gonna happen.

Have never really heard what the MNF angle really is as far as being a problem?? Lot of speculation, does anyone know anything concrete about his contract?

Ie, is there a possible "buyout" required, would litigation be required to get out of it if ESPN gets difficult???

Just curious, "Don't Taze me Dude!" :)

I'm getting worried about contracting black lung with all the smokescreens I may have been exposed to since I started here.

My dad was a coal miner all his life until retired, he may know a good lawyer for black lung??

From Charlie Strong's recent presser:

"I have no representative, Charlie Strong represents himself"

A coach who speaks in the third person. Might be entertaining...

I think that means a low self-esteem. I'd like to think Tennessee needs a CONFIDENT COACH. Good try though. Like your avi.

OldVol seem to imply that it may be a back loaded in the sum of 1.2 mil... and will not be paid until his last gig there.

And if word leaks out that he would loose it... that was what I got from his hypothetical ?

Your math is so far off it's not even funny. It was way more than that to hire Gruden.

From what Hargis said the money for Gruden was there but not for his assistants. Hargis reported on various radio shows that Gruden wanted 4.5 to 5 mill for assistants which means Gruden would have taken around 4 mill which is only 500k more than UT is paying football staff now!

Even if Gruden was at 8 mill that would be 12 mill which is only 2 mill more than it would cost to get Gundy.

Considering Gruden did win a Super Bowl and by all accounts from everyone would recruit lights out, the extra 2 mill would be more than worth the investment.

I don't know. The interview was on Thursday, 11/29 and he said explicitly that he was going down to Tampa "tomorrow" to see Gruden.

Would love to have Zook back at UT, guy was a great recruiter, not HC, but relentless recruiter.

Makes one believe the money angle is all false information as to why Gruden said no.... if he did

Let me go ahead so the trolls won't waste their time....boy oh boy you guys are really something! Clinging to hope it could still be Gruden! What is wrong with you people???? I just don't get it.

.....anyway GRUDEN 2013! Ride it till the wheels fall off!!!!

Maybe that is why Gruden looked like he hadn't slept for three weeks in that interview.
