Guys, I know we all want to believe that it's Gruden - but if you love TN. If you love the university, please please please take the time to call, email, tweet Currie and Davenport. Join the protests currently going on at TN. We cannot sit by and hope this is just a big smokescreen.

Schiano will not be coach of the Vols. Not in my world, never!

I also find it hilarious people who haven't been in here ever, are now leaving their "other coach threads" just to come in here and put their two cents in...to me that's all its worth anyways...well...maybe a penny's worth.

If Schiano is the one introduced as the next head football coach at Tennessee, I am done. NEVER thought I would say that in my lifetime. Can the AD be that tone deaf? Wow! Could have forgiven Kiffin and welcomed him back ahead of this boneheaded move - if true. Just wow...

Bama tickets cost the same as UT tickets. They sell less of them than the Vols do. They get to watch a Saban coached team. We get to watch up and comers coached teams. If it is not a proven coach I am done.

Calm, friends.

John Currie's last statement to us included these two points: (1) looking for a coach of integrity and character, and (2) do not believe anything you hear about the coaching search unless it is from him.

Someone is being played right now. Either it is us, or it is the national and local sports media (probably because of a mole hunt).

Since we don't know which of those it is yet, best to sit back, relax, and follow Currie's advice.

Just a theory but what if this truly is a smokescreen for Plan B? This would certainly make everyone take a deep breath should Currie decide to trot Josh McDaniels out or someone else no one was even considering!

Something like, "well thank God it wasn't Schiano so I'm good with this guy (insert name)"!

All I can say is, if Schiano is hired all you so-called "insiders" better not come around telling us how it was "close" and a few minor details kept Gruden from coming. You better change your login names and not EVER come back around here in 3-4 years with your:

*Sources
*Plane Tracking for Dummies
*Country Club memberships
*Booster Memos
*2+2 Innuendos

No one will buy your hot garbage again.
