So they make rumors it's Schiano, then announce "hey we got our guy.. it's 'xyz' from 'blah blah with a mediocre record' but *at least* it's not Schiano like the rumors were saying! It's not as good as Gruden but not as bad as Schiano so it's ok?
Or this is what was meant by big, expensive, explosive. (All three meant in a negative way.)
Or it's all internet/news lies and we have Gruden.
Wonder how Blackburn would have handled this hire?
There is simply no way Currie survives at this point. He's done. BoT members are up in arms. Huge boosters. I'm seeing Dish Network protests, Pilot protests, Food City, and others associated with UT. This is literally the worst decision I've ever seen a University make in it's hiring process. Gruden cannot save Currie at this point. There's no sweeping in to save the day. None of that stuff. It's over for John Currie.
Its the same if you just drive the getaway car... you are still guilty of the robbery!
THANK YOU!
This thread has been a lot of fun for many of us who previously never posted. I for one appreciate the information that is shared and realize situations change, I refused to believe UT would consider hiring someone with such low morales.
I hope the thread returns to a least some resemblance of what it was.
Gruden to the Hill!!
Currie needs to respond to this. Now. Every minute that goes by makes me realize this was true and was his plan. What a stain on our program. Shame on you, Currie.
As a mother, I would never let my son play for this program with that enabling monster at the helm. We deserve better. We deserve someone who respects this university. Until then, I will not support this program as much as it pains me.
