Currie made it clear that he was not going to comment.

Many came to this thread and brought the idea to temper expectations.

The faction of fans that kept the gruden hype going and harshly rejecting any counter thought must take the hit for the huge gruden let down.

I respectfully disagree, If you think this thread was just about Gruden, you are the one that misunderstood. Almost everyone here was just here to have a good time. Almost everyone here would like to have a Gruden-LIKE hire and would have loved to have any one of 5-6 homerun hires. This thread is about the hope that UT football could be great again. The real trolls here are the ones that habitually came into a GRUDEN thread and pissed in everyone's cereal bowls. If you don't get that then you can still GTFO.

As if we needed evidence to show that the administration at UT is weak. This entire situation reeks of the stench of corruption. ANYONE who endorsed what happened during this should be removed immediately. Any booster who had a hand in it should be told thanks but no thanks. We will make do without your money.

I would rather lose with dignity than win this way. Keep your money Haslam. Stay in Cleveland where you clearly know what you are doing with that franchise. Tennessee deserves better. Until Tennessee stands up and refuses to cower to an individual, no matter how wealthy, success will elude us.

Please understand that the backlash yesterday was NOT because they were hiring a coach not named Gruden.

That’s what is so frustrating and being shared on the narional stage. Andy Staples nailed it. He said he lived in Knoxville for a while. I wonder if he is on here because that article is the sentiment of most of us this am.

When do we get to start calling out the insiders like LittleDTO and others who were 150% sure Gruden was coming? And why do you people fall for this every 4-5 years when a Gruden thread pops up smh.

I've read all these "insider" posts and they're so generic other than the bottom line which is "Currie has his man" (while hinting that it's Gruden) and people go ape#&$! about it only to be let down every time.

Will people quit calling out the "insiders", please. They were given information and I have no doubt in my mind that they wanted gruden just as bad as any of us. None of these guys and girls that have been around a while had bad intentions of misleading any of us. I believe they were told things.
However, when Currie absolutely disappeared off the map a couple of nights ago, that was all Haslam. It's our turn to take back our university. I guarantee if you get rid of that cancer the university will benefit ten fold. Our fans spend way more money every year than the Haslams donate and I guarantee that.
As a fan, yesterday was hard. Today is a new day and I will do everything in my power to remove Currie,Davenport, and the Haslams from this university. They are no longer welcome! Let's go vol fans. Lets stand up for a change!

This has nothing to do with gruden.

I think it does. The ever present word had PM having ALL boosters on the same page for JG. If he was now pulling for schiano my questions revolve around what changed to change his mind or did haslam backdoor everyone (like many believe). Furthermore, if he hates schiano so much I’d assume Hyams was lied to and PM might roshambo whoever said it.

At this point, in my opinion, this thread is like a home within a home for us on here.

While all responses aren’t directly related to Gruden, I would rather talk to the people in here. At least in here, the majority of us seem to want the best.

Yesterday came damned close.
