It won't be Schiano. If Currie is competent and smart, which lets face it he's made it this far in life so has to be at least a little bit, he wouldn't make that hire. He values his job too much, and any sane individual could tell you that Schiano is another Butch Jones with an even worse record but some NFL experience sprinkled in. It's not Schiano. Everyone relax. This smells like smokescreen to me. Since 10 this morning, we've had nothing but different information thrown at us. This tells me that something's in the works with a big name and we'll know soon enough. Like I said earlier this morning, if we don't hear anything by Tuesday, then we need to be worrying about the caliber of coach we're going to get.

I will admit, Gruden wasn't my first choice (Kelly, Peterson, Patterson and frost...in that order), but with the names they are throwing around, please Baby Jesus, let it be the Gruden.

I made fun of some of the grumors at the beginning. Not going to lie, started believing along the way. Born and raised in Knoxville. Tennessee football is a big part of my life but so help me god, if they trot out Greg Schiano I'm done. He can be the best college coach in the country but I will not support him or UT football one bit considering what he knew of at Penn. State. I will be done.

I fear the Gruden/CBS story is to show Currie tried. The Schiano story is to say it could be worse. The Mullen stuff looks like the unfortunate reality. Lines up with talk last night about Currie going last night to have an early meeting with Mullen today. Flight could very well have been Currie heading home from the meeting, which caused the MSU meetings to be delayed. Currie hasn't been flying directly to any cities where the coach coaches so far. So it being 2 hours from Starkville wouldn't be unusual. If any of that is true, maybe we're lucky and Mullen said no.

I am with you on this...let everyone think and be pissed off at the possibility that it is Schiano. Then trot Mullen out and everyone has a sigh of relief because it wasn't Schiano and the sting of it being Mullen is lessened, for a moment anyway!

I don't want Schiano. I think Beave is an idiot. He claims to be a powerful lever pusher, not a simple attention whore. So his twitter raggin' (according to his silly narrative) is libel. In truth, he's an attention whore and has no claim to any moral high ground. And he's in no danger of libel, because he's got no power...no actual ability to defame.
