Why does there need to be a backup plan if Gruden has already agreed to coach? Personally, I think this board has been fed a lot of B.S. re Gruden by some attention seakers.
If Currie simply needs to feign a coaching search to appease Grudens personal interests, that only makes sense in a short-term sense. Surely we wont play that game until MNF finishes - recruiting cannot wait until January.
So Im calling B.S. on this Gruden stuff at this point.
Well, the realistic thing is that the UTAD could give a dog turd less about vol nation. Look how well the empty neyland went. Im sure it really hurt them. I to am tired of mediocrity and want the grand slam hire. I also being a realist look ahead to the what if we dont get that hire? What if Gruden has no interest in coaching? What if Peterson wont come, which I think is true. Then we still have to fill that spot. And I will throw stuff and I will curse the AD but I will support that team come 2018.
Preds games are awesome.
Playoff game last season was the loudest sporting event I've ever been to. Almost broke the decibel record (130db held by Kansas) for loudest indoor arena (Preds was 129.4db).
I'll chime in....
The reason we are in this mess, to put it simply, is the mishandling of Fulmer. This reaction got the wheels rolling to where we are now. As for the complacency and subtle, inconspicuous slide, this goes back to the realignment of the UTAD, inept leadership and poor decisions by this leadership.
We do at know that if it's today, it's not Gruden. He's not in Knox

Bill Hofheimer from ESPN's PR department told me via email that Jon Gruden arrived in Baltimore last night to prepare for tomorrow night's broadcast. Hofheimer said Gruden will meet with the Houston Texans today.
