Love Tee, but I seriously doubt it. Tee did not get much of a HS education and doubt he improved much on it while at UT. He has not really excelled at OC. Adequate, may even better than average, but not elite by any means. He has no head coaching experience. I think it could be a disaster. I would support him 100% though. With most any other hire, I'm withholding support until they prove themselves.

Someone has already addressed this today. They said USC has a top 10 offense. Sounds like he has adequately excelled to me.

Sorry about the liver, but spitting into the wind would have produced better results than Shoop. Still trying to figure out how the man forgot how to coach defense once he donned orange and where the never met a blitz he didn’t like ran off to.

I think it ran into the end zone with the opposition's ball carriers.

Jimmy Haslam should NOT have the final say in who the next head football coach is going to be.

I agree, but at this mmoment in time he does. Thats the reality. Unless then other money players can pull off their power play then we are screwed. Firing Currie may not be enough because you will always have the Haslams undermining the new AD.

One thing that has been clearly established. Despite much (and wow do I mean much) recent experience with coaching searches, the UT administration always becomes a national punchline when it runs one. We can claim that the media "hates us" all we want, but the derision is largely justified.

It really is mind boggling the level of ineptitude. I fully expect Gundy to tell us to move along tomorrow, and we will move down another tier in the search.

Every coach we've hired has been shoved down our throats as a great hire from national media. Look at Dooley and Butch. Any disagreement has been met with condescension. It all makes sense now that Jimmy Sexton pulls weight even among the media.

I can't tell the whole story but here is what I can tell .
A very powerful person in Tennessee sent out a tweet Sunday night supporting Vol fans. Within hours this person got a call from Jimmy Haslam and was TOLD not asked to delete tweet. Can't tell the whole conversation but he was politely told to go to hell. I can say with 100 % confidence by what Haslam said during phone call , he was behind the hire.

This is easy as can be. Was more than likely Beth Harwell (speaker of the TN house) that he called. She was most definitely the most powerful person in the state to post about the hire.

Yeah I'm not getting my hopes up.

any hint about powerful person....west, mid, east TN....initials ?

No and please no trying to figure it out. People's careers are on the line. They are not a Tennessee legislator but I would say powerful if Haslam had their cell number. I know this is not earth shattering but it is first hand straight out of his mouth. He seems to think we are stupid and he can bite me.

I have posted about this several times, but it is so demoralizing to see the way the fans have been lambasted by most everyone over the events on Sunday.

And they continue to do so. We say we are a laughingstock, but we REALLY are a laughingstock.

We will continue to be until change happens.
