Not that we needed much help, but he accomplished what he was sent here to do. And don't mistake the fact that he was "sent" here.

I thought Fulmer's comments about not only hiring a coach but also about assistants was a little unusual as well. Obviously, one would expect a head coach to assemble his own staff.

Maybe Gruden has given Phil a list of people he wants for his staff and expects him to do the grunt work to get them here?

I honestly wasn't being disrespectful....just taking the easy joke. Fulmer was an offensive lineman....they all love a good buffet.

OSU has no one to blame but themselves, conference champs or not. They had two losses, and one by 31 points to Iowa. I called it last night, the only way Alabama would've been removed is if Wisky won.

I don’t disagree for a minute. OSU had to blow out Wisconsin to have any chance whatsoever in my opinion and they aligned much to close to the PSU situation last year. Lastly, as much as I don’t like Bama, the Tide would have kicked Buckeye azz this year.

All in:in a crazy year. I think the committee got it right.

Anything is possible at this point. I'm not convinced that anyone knows anything of substance except the people directly involved. Even when it's over, we won't know how or what actually happened behind the scenes IMO.

Yeah. If there is validity to these rumors of Phil lining up coordinators, it has to be because he and an (as yet unnamed) head coach have agreed in principle on a direction, and Phil is helping that potential head coach gauge the interest of possible assistants.

As an old coach himself, no way Phil takes the selection of a coaching team away from the head coach. Only way he does this is if he has been asked to pitch in.

That 'pitch in' bit especially makes sense with possible coordinators like Tee, Dale Jones, etc., folks Phil knows better than the future head coach does.
