The sad thing is Strong would have been a homerun hire in 2009 and we'd be pissing all over ourselves with little puppy dog excitement. Who knows? This Strong thing could be false, or at least not completely true. After all, Chris Low only said he's the front-runner for the job and we "want" him.
Great recruiter, has SEC and head coaching experience. Defender guy, which is what we have been lacking, and he automatically gets the attention of big time recruits. The only people not excited are the ones who actually believed the Gruden mess.
The pro-Strong people should grasp this: coming into a pro-Gruden thread and talking trash is childish and silly. Strong isn't a bad person and I don't think people are mad if HE is hired. Instead, it's just that it's yet another unproven up-and-comer that makes the program look like a mid-major. So we HAVE the money, resources and facility to grab a top-flight coach with serious pedigree... we just CHOOSE to continuously hire up-and-comers. Holy Mary, are we a damn half-way house?
