From here. If anyone fact checked his recruiting as a head coach or his record as a head coach, they would start to question their support. I thought he would be a good hire until I started digging deeper.

Wouldn't shock me if he was giving Arkansas serious consideration given that that's where he's from. I think the reason we're seeing this avalanche of "Strong is the frontrunner" speculation now is because the Arky job is off the table now. Strong is now ready to tell us yes after weighing his options and having his other preferred landing place removed. Looks to me like he had serious offers from both and couldn't choose between them. Jerry Jones and the Walton boys chose for him, so here we are.

As a bit of reminder of us all how much we need a HUGE increase in coaching and talent, I have to advise that I got my National Commodore Club "Bowl Central" email just a few minutes ago, inviting me to buy tickets and make arrangements for travel (a whopping 35 miles down the road) for their bowl. And before I get slammed, it's only a graduate degree - my undergrad and my heart are pure Big Orange. You have NO IDEA how much it pains me to get ragged on by my classmates for our utterly pathetic loss to Vandy. :banghead2:

Strong is NOT the kind of hire Tennessee needs now. Three years ago he might have been able to take what Kiffin started and turned it into something worthwhile but as low as we've sunken, we need more.

His recruiting classes at louisville, how were they ranked? Serious, I haven't looked it up. I don't give him tons of credit for UF because 1. It's florida, tons of talent 2. at the time UF was up and Miami and FSU down.

If we can't out recruit Bama, Georgia, Florida and South Carolina...we won't be making up any ground. jmo.

I'll support him like I did Dooley, which means, I'll believe it when I see it. It's not very exciting and I'd feel that way regardless of Gruden.

We basically have an idea of who's been talked to, I'm just not impressed.
