Guess I'm a terrible fan since I gave up on the administration with the Dooley hire. I will always support the school but that doesn't mean I have to support those running the show at any point in time. The only way to show my displeasure is to withhold my $$$ and that's what I have done.

Just the opinion of an old alum that's been a fan since the single wing days.

I'm with you. Our money and butts in the seats are the only votes that we have.

We never had a real chance at Gruden. NEVER. He was an NFL guy through and through and many of us saw this from a mile away, from day one... even all the way back to the Spring, when this started. ;-)

Because anybody and anything is better than Dooley. The guy straight up couldn't coach. Strong is a definite step up from Dooley. Clearly, Strong can't hold a candle to Gruden and I would be seriously disappointed if we hire him (especially considering who Arky just landed). However, Strong still knows how to coach and recruit, two things that Dooley apparently never learned how to do.

If it is Strong, he will get an early lesson at losing to Florida on an annual basis.

Look I'm a Gruden guy through and through, but haven't we been a solid defense away from beating the Gators the last couple of years? If you accept that premise, then the Strong hire (particularly if Randy Shannon joins as DC) will level the playing field with what has been an overachieving FL team in recent years.
I think we would do no worse than 50/50 against FL over the next 4 years. Alabama on the other hand....
