Not very. I hung through the sh!tty final years of Fulmer, Kiffin, and the up until the Akron game on board with Dooley.

This had less to do with the hire, if there is one, and more to do with the Carpet Bagger Bammer leadership we gave the keys to.

You drones need to understand, this thing we call Vol Football is a product. Like any product, if I disagree with its value I vote for its change or removal from the market with my dollars. It does not define my existance like it does so many.

I enjoy it....I love the University I attended, but if they screw up this hire I have to make changes. Why be loyal to an entity that is not loyal to me, or others like me?

Everyone calm down... Nothing has been announced yet. The only people reporting Strong as a done deal have been consistently inaccurate. It's hard for me to believe that UT reapportioned $18M to hire Strong, Fedora or Gundy. Nothing adds up, and something smells fishy. I don't have any sources... I'm just going on what I've heard.

I'm still confident that we can land a big name (Gruden). Low said that the stuff Grudens agent said was a load of BS, essentially. Anything could still happen. I would like for someone to point out where the media has been accurate about anything regarding any SEC hires. Last time we heard Cutcliffe and Calhoun as HC before Dooley was announced. The media knows about as much as we do, so just calm down.

And finally to all those supporting Strong, I would like to politely point out that you have your own thread.

I have had season tickets with my Dad since 1977 we gave them up last year . But I still went to every game a whole lot cheaper . I keep hearing in here how I support my VOLS and maybe all of us in here do. But I do know over the last 35 yrs there has been a lot of games I see ALL VOL FANS walking to the gate at halftime.
And by 3rd qtr looks like ghost town if we are getting blown out. I have always staid to the end of every game. But without a big name hire I can not stay any more. I will always bleed orange but you can only bleed so long then you die.
I really hope that with our big money boosters this is not how this is going to go down.
I thing Gruden was the best hire for us but not the only name. But I would expect someone with more than 3 yrs of head coaching.

Exactly, I don't think Strong is a bad coach at all. He's just not the right "fit" for UT. He would be a great hire for someone like Georiga Tech or Arkansas. Not Tennessee.
