The day I trust Hart and his 2 Alabama assistants that he brought with him to do the right thing and make the right hire, will be the day hell freezes over. I say pack their Alabama asses up and sent them on their way.
IMO there is no way on earth that Hart will hire a coach here that could upstage Saban at Bama his Alma Mater.
C'mon, don't call me 'bro'. I don't know you, and really don't mind that as I'm sure I wouldn't like you. I have a problem getting along with inferior/submissive people. Just been that way since birth.
If Strong were to be named Head Coach, I would quit supporting the Vols as well. That doesn't mean I wouldn't love the Tennessee Volunteers; it just means that I would be indifferent to the failures that would befall them while this group of Neanderthals were spearheading their journey towards irrelevancy.
If that's true, I'd say the trip to Oakland is what clinched Gruden going back. He was treated like royalty there like he was when he visited here. Reggie McKensie as an Vol alum, actually, played a big part.
We made a really good offer, but Gruden wanted to go back. Raiders were really the only opportunity. I doubt any other opportunities would have opened up.
Sorry guys but I believe this is the truth.
At this hour, 6 p.m. Eastern time on Dec. 4, multiple reports out of Tennessee are that Charlie Strong is a finalist for the Tennessee coaching job, and ESPN even has indicated that he has become the central candidate, though nothing is done. All indications are, however, that the process will draw to a close soon.
Out of those second-hand sources I have, the belief is that Strong is indeed under consideration, but either moved to the back burner while other candidates were interviewed, or is wrestling very hard with how he wants to proceed. Or both. Another, within the department, when asked whether there think Strong is leaving, said, "I really don't."
I want to tell you right here, that perspective should be taken with all the skepticism you would ascribe to any information you hear in these cases, and in fact the skepticism with which I take all such information. The problem with sources is that they themselves often have only part of the picture. And it's a picture that can change from hour to hour at that.
