I also gotta say, the OG's have practically gave us the script of how this thing plays out. And I'm thinking they are the right ones to listen to. Too much lines up in favor of JG. I have been here for numerous Gruden threads, starting at 9, I think. I have not posted much, but I have and will continue to be All In for The Gruden Era at UT!

The way things appear to be heading, $300 for season tickets with no donation may be the equivalent to scalper prices if Hart screws this up.

So my thinking is, Gruden and Hart/boosters have had meetings, they got the contract as they wanted it, and tonight was the night that things were finalized. Gruden had to make a decision.

Could explain his lack of enthusiasm last night on MNF.

Could explain the sudden "Holy crap what is going on?" misdirection.

Hopefully, if this is true, Gruden made the right choice.

depends on contract language and what the penalty is. if any of this theory were true...

This thread has doubled my skoal intake and I believe the fingerprint on my thumb is now non existent (using my mobile phone) as I am constantly fingering through all the pages. Tarzan Alert:

Our friends, the black panthers, in the far western jungle have indicated that they have successfully beguiled the numerous parrots surrounding Tarzan, Mustafa, & Red Wolfe. Tarzan has now had time to clear his thoughts and wants nothing more than to come to our beloved jungle. Red Wolfe has dismissed the Kingly pretenders and Mustafa is happy. Tarzan will soon be crossing the grand plateau to make his new home in our jungle where the precious daisies bloom each spring. During the long crossing Mustafa will keep a close eye on Red Wolfe.

Any chance one of Gruden's power issues was a request for a Nike contract? Would help level the playing field that Hart talked about in his presser. Seems like a small detail but our players have been tweeting Nike hints all week.

Also....

IF Gruden said yes, then expect to hear both Strong and Gundy say they are staying where they are.

Why? Because we will still be playing on Gruden's timeline most likely. I don't see Gruden giving in to a different schedule.

Waiting only harms us if Gruden isn't coming.

Honestly, I think if either Strong or Gundy is not named Coach, then Gruden is the man.

And it's already being indicated that Strong is staying in Louisville...though this didn't come out until LATE tonight....

If Slice's info is correct and it's up to Gruden and we believe what the OGs have been laying down. Gruden will be named the next HC at UT.

The funny and ironic thing in all of this, if/when Strong does back out - if SOMEHOW the Knoxville/Tennessee media does get the brass to start humoring Gruden as a candidate again....

We just can't take them seriously. Haha, isn't that a Catch-22?

EXACTLY, UT rumored to be going after 2 guys who we know will get matched offers and another(Fedora) who is in tough spot being at UNC 1 year. Gundy at Alma Mater and Jurich has been clear they will outpay anyway. So, if I am UT I make halfhearted runs at these guys to create buzz and buy time and get people off the Gruden thing.

Now,it's possible I just want to buy in to Gruden(never got off that train), but I think this makes sense and lines up with OG's prediction weeks ago

Yea. He has, like, six recruits that know who he is and said that they would totally come here if they weren't already committed and stuff.
