I thought it was strong, now we are back to three?:crazy:

I certainly got the impression late yesterday afternoon that Strong wasn't too popular a choice. Now, it appears to me there are a lot of folks who would love it...funny how things change when the options dwindle.

Somewhere around 7 or 8(i think) it was being reported charlie strong staying. It was even reported that we didnt offer strong.

LMAO....sounds bout right. Why would we offer him...we already have the gru in the bag!

Exactly...and helps justify a 10-12 million coaching package that blows away the current NCAA pay scale.

It's too early to search for it, but somebody posted yesterday to watch out for 3 coaches turning UT down, one that would seem so close to happening that it would make you puke, and then boom... Gruden is announced.

I recognized a few of thier screen names as being some of the most ridiculously slavish Dooley supporters. It's like a pack of pirrahna that just attack any post that suggests UTK needs to be shooting for the stars with the football program. Very tiresome but I imagine they'll wear out before I do.

As much as I'd love to hear Gruden was being hired, it makes no sense to me. With the TB payout issue being a non-factor, the only logical explanation is he wants or has to fulfill his contract with ESPN.

I just can't for the life of me think UT is going to be able to string this along until the end of MNF. It simply doesn't compute, especially now that reasonable candidates are being gobbled up by the hour.

I know, that's been my question too. Why the secrecy? I get it when the coaches don't want it to get out that they are negotiating because of recruiting, but this makes no sense to me either.

I hope we are not left with Skip Holtz as a choice. (He's a famous coach's son, it worked so well with Dooley)

Whether UT hires Strong, Gruden or someone else, I absolutely disagree with the proposition that the Vols need to hire someone ASAP just because other teams are making hires. I'd rather take an interim through signing day and get the right head coach than to make some kneejerk Dooleyesque hire out of desparation. Patience is a virtue and more Vol fans need to learn how to exercise it.

Have any assistant coaches left for new jobs yet. I know I heard Graham was out there recruiting and we know he is staying. I was just curious if anybody had left yet.
