Never mind us not getting Gruden...if we can't lure Strong away from UL ( has anyone ever seen their facilities?) back to a conference where he has experience and the jobs are considered top notch....then they better get ready to lose some major cash.....I don't think Vol fans are rushing to see a Larry Fedora coached team...he would have to win a huge game first to raise an eyebrow with fans...just my 2 cents

I find it hard to believe we were willing to show all of our cards all of the sudden. That sets us up for some possible embarrassment.

I don't think that's the case, I think the media just see Strong as the most obvious candidate and we're the last on the table. Nothing more than the normal media speculation we've had for weeks. I mean, they haven't called a hire yet, so why now?

And they said it a long time ago...months... that is when they were the most confident. All of the little issues that no body had ever really even spoke about...that came to happen. Then up to the smokescreen denials and the bigfoot sighting

If we don't have a coach by the end of the day, my percentage goes up to 30%. It will increase by 20% each day that we do not name a coach.

I heard on the radio this morning Fedora was Florida's #2 if they couldn't get Muschamp. First time I had heard that.

If no letter he would need to have or someone in AD would have to know if it was real..letter..-verbal offer corroborated ..if it was all BS ..no motive to stroke check

I think this is exactly what happened. Any notion that we had 2 offers out there at the same time is ridiculous.

I actually now am nearly certain that we have not put forth an offer to anyone yet. With one possible exception.

I still don't have a good feeling about this.

Knox Sport's media reported yesterday at different times that Strong was offered. However ESPN only went so far to say that Strong was a leading candidate. ESPN unlike the local guys don't just plastered stuff all over the wall to see what sticks!

No I never spoke to or know any Gruden people, my info came from boosters talking to my boss mostly, I'm not an insider just found myself in positions to hear conversations and have people talk to me about it.

At this point with my head out of the Gruden cloud I would rather have a proven college coaching commodity anyway.

If Gruden truly was this bleed orange UT guy that wanted to be here, and the boosters had all the money to make it happen, and he is not out on the recruiting trail right now I have to believe that's because he just doesn't want the job. No way anyone at UT say no to Gruden with the money pledged to pay for it. Gruden is not coming because he doesn't want to be here, deal with the college game, and I am now totally ok with it.
