I believe some strange things are going on, but I refuse to believe Hart is traveling from school to school. Spending money and wasting coaches time for a smokescreen. Sorry, I don't buy that.

Someone tell me why so many people are in such a hurry to hire a coach? Notwithstanding Gruden, there are some fine coaching candidates going to some pretty big bowl games! Plus, there is always the pro route and those guys won't really talk to anyone until their season is completed.

The worst thing UT can do is rush the hire.

I know and it would be a hard pill to swallow for me as well. I just don't think you spend $6Mil on Strong with a huge buyout making it impossible to get rid of him. With FUlmer you could use him as a interim type coach until you could get a bigger name. Taking the emotion out, I think it would be a risk/reward type situation.

We could hire him through a Temp Agency and save money since we would not have to pay him benefits. I would imagine with a physic like his, insurnace premiums would be through the roof.

Well it looks liek another day of me being addicted to this thread and accomplishing absolutely nothing at work. We need to name a coach so I wont lose my job...J/k

I feel your pain, and like you, I'm stuck in Bama.

I just joined this board to follow this intriguing search and to set a few straight in the process. We've had two lame coaches in a row and I can't handle a 3rd. Season ticket holder since the 70's, and I know what it SHOULD be like on Saturdays in Neyland. I'd even go so far as to say that the years I was at UT ('75-80) were not so good - the end of the Battle era and the start of the Major's era. But it was NOTHING like it is now.

I'm not saying we need an exact clone of Saban, but we do need a coach that has 3 qualities. 1)program discipline 2)recruiting 3) good assistants. Quit hiring these Bama throwaways.

Now back to work? Nah....
