I wasnt aware that he was making that much. I just dont see him leaving. Maybe its about more power or maybe he really is interested.

I have no idea. I think we are clearly ages of them in the pecking order but its not because of the reasons given on here. The nugget reason is the fact Arkansas is in the west. We are more appealing because we are opposite LSU and Bama IMO

I don't post a lot, but I have been reading these Gruden threads through all of the ups and downs.

I think, starting tomorrow, the chance of hiring Jon Gruden increases 5% each day that goes by without a head coach. If this continues through December 23 (day after last MNF broadcast) we should be at 100%!

I just think its crazy that some of the higher ups in the athletic department are in the dark on this hire.

For sure. I was thinking that since Strong wants to coach the bowl game that would fit them well since they still have their interim coach anyway. whew God I panicked when i saw troll thread Strong to TN..

UNLESS they've been warned to staff off of this one. Not saying its likely, but possible.

There may be big $ contractual reasons/obligations for Gruden and the MNF gig to keep this all on the serious down low until the season is over.

Hart keeping the Knoxville media at bay... who knows.

Not much of a fisherman myself, to slow for me, so I come at from wake boarding, skiing, and tubing perspective.. We just don't visit Nasty that much

We want the same thing, for the Vols to win. It will be hard for me to get excited for Charlie Strong. If he's the guy he'll have to prove it on the field for me whereas a more proven guy would allow me to buy in right off the bat. Not saying that's right but I think that's reality for a lot of fans. Ou know the minute he loses a game he shouldn't people are gonna say "that's what you get when you hire an up and comer ". A more established coach would garner a little more latitude. It will be hard for many to get excited and that's ok but I hope those people are willing I see the responses from our players and recruits. There is a reason jay graham old recruits last week strong was being considered. He knows he will draw attention.
