He didn't speak with Tennessee, but he spoke with Dave Hart for several hours.
Since some have said that Dooley was supposed to coach thru the bowl game, which would keep the Gruden deal the schedule, wonder if Dooley lost on purpose just to derail UT?
Of course, that would be hard to prove in a court of law that he coached to lose, since who would know how he coached to win?
It's clear Arky will get whoever we choose not to go after. They've had all year to put this together yet they are now interviewing candidates AFTER we get done interviewing them and we've had an open position for 3-weeks.. Hope they now understand where they truly stand, idiots.
It makes me honestly just question the salaries some of these media guys get who are supposed to have their finger on the pulse of these things. I mean, really, we have folks with fulltime jobs (outside of journalism), with no inside "connections" who make just as accurate predictions, with more merit, than a lot of these folks who are getting paid, then beg you to pay more, for their services.
At least Hargis actually did some legwork on his story and provided broken-down factual analysis. Some of these Knoxville clowns are the laziest, backtracking, vague, contradictory folks supposedly close to a situation I've ever seen.

We want the same thing, for the Vols to win. It will be hard for me to get excited for Charlie Strong. If he's the guy he'll have to prove it on the field for me whereas a more proven guy would allow me to buy in right off the bat. Not saying that's right but I think that's reality for a lot of fans. Ou know the minute he loses a game he shouldn't people are gonna say "that's what you get when you hire an up and comer ". A more established coach would garner a little more latitude. Not that that's right either, just reality.
It will be hard for many to get excited and that's ok but I hope those people are willing I see the responses from our players and recruits. There is a reason jay graham old recruits last week strong was being considered. He knows he will draw attention.
