First let me say welcome Coach Jones to The University of Tennessee all of the Vol Nation will be pulling for you as we love our Vols.

Now to Gruden, yesterday afternoon I got a bad feeling on the Gruden front. I couldn't post because I couldn't get on. I knew things were not going in the Gruden direction when I heard Jay Greeson (Hargis's boss) talking about the search and talking about how it wouldn't be bad to bring Fulmer back for a couple of years and have a coach in waiting. He all but said that Gruden wasn't going to happen. Remember these guys had a great source and that source told them it's all but dead. It sucks because he would have had a quality staff and been able to recruit well. But that doesn't mean someone else can't do the same thing.

It's time to move on follow recruiting and get behind the new coach.


Oh, we should never ever hire anyone else from Alabama!!!

Completely agree. And, inside information is completely bogus. Think about it. What insider is going to put their info out to anybody who would put it on a message board? We've basically been punked.

Gruden could have made a tactful professional statement at the outset of this thing, especially with his wife being an alum. Hart could have done the same thing. It is what it is. A f****d up mess called Tennessee football.

Yeah, didn't figure they'd be hanging around for anything but a big hit to keep them around. Really curious on the recruits now though, who stays, who goes, who may come on board if anyone.

And also hoping Jones' coaching staff will be good hires as well, keep Graham and Pittman hopefully, Tee'd be good to bring home perhaps, least try to have some orange blood in the coaching pool.

I don't think for a minute that the OGs were trolling. I believed what they were saying.

The tipping point for me was the term "fantasy land". That not only pissed me off but woke me up.

No one held a gun to another's head in here and made you read or believe a thing. If you didn't believe it, all you had to do was move on.

This thread has been really entertaining.

Don't think all were gullible some just believed that we were not going to settle for coach like last and AD was not stupid as last one. I think Hamilton would have done a little better.

All right guys, I'm going to vent all d*** day today, but at the end of the day I'm going to put my orange back on and get behind my team bc those guys represent each and everyone of us! It's not there faults our AD sucks! It's not there faults Hart and cheek suck at life, and its not there faults we didn't get Gruden. The AD doesn't represent me at all , but those guys that put our great universities orange and white on and go out there and bust there a$$es every Saturday does and I can't turn my back on them.

I wouldn't mind keeping the offensive staff together - except Tee over Hinshaw.

The important part is the defensive staff since there is no precedence of Jones' ability on defense.

Way too many years and way too much money. I have been a vol fan for 33 years and now I'm emberassed to be a vol fan. We will lose to candy for the next couple years

Well of course I trust them. I know who they are (actually you probably do to) and how they come by what they know.
