Something about those two don't connect. The athletic department IS the program from the top. I feel for the team, players, coaches, etc. I really do, but I'm not supporting a damn thing until the AD is fixed. It sucks, but that is the way it has to happen if things are going to ever change.

I get what your saying. What I'm trying to say is I'm still gonna get behind the kids. These guys have no ties to this decision.

The OG's did nothing more than try to keep us informed as to what was going on, in a search that fraught with secrets. Hart was telling us nothing and we wanted to know. I salute :salute: the OG's for trying to keep us informed, and for keeping our spirits and hope alive. A double salute :salute: :salute: to Boro-Vol and any other OG's that have come on here after the fact and stood toe to toe with us in light of Gruden not being hired.

Like Butch Jones or not, he is our coach. If you are a fan of Tennessee, you will support him and put your faith in him that he can point UT in the right direction and possibly return us to glory. Let's stop belly aching, and support our Football team. I wanted Gruden as much as anybody, but at least Butch WANTS to be here. He turned down other offers to come here when others leveraged us to get a raise. Butch at least has a better resume than Dooley. Until he is fired and we search for another coach (hopefully not for a looooong time) we should support him, not condemn him.

Thank you to the OG's. Thank you to Tennessee Fans and the Football players that are going to give their ALL for TENNESSEE! (Still dislike Hart)... but go VOLS! :dance2:

I wouldn't mind keeping the offensive staff together - except Tee over Hinshaw.

The important part is the defensive staff since there is no precedence of Jones' ability on defense.

Can our defense do much worse than this year on the whole? Figure the only way that was possible is to just not field one.

Boro, I respect you and all of the people who have posted in formation and speculation in this thread. I don't have any respect for those on a witch hunt for the OG's now. It's people like that who make other teams' fans hate us.

I'm trying wait to formulate my real opinion till I have had a chance to cool down and really evaluate things. I am not excited about this hire, but the one thing I know is it isn't Butch Jones fault. He's smart for taking this job. I hope Hart is fired by the end of the semester though.

Way too many years and way too much money. I have been a vol fan for 33 years and now I'm emberassed to be a vol fan. We will lose to candy for the next couple years

The years in the deal isn't nearly as important as the buyout schedule. You could have a 20 year deal but if the buyout is relatively low after the first couple of years it doesn't matter.

First of all, good morning to all!

Second of all, I don't want to hear the childish "I told you so" from the people that said Gruden wasn't coming..That being said I'll admit I was wrong and try my best to get behind the Butch Jones hire.

This whole Gruden experience has been one helluva ride and I will never forget it..Made a ton of friends and I would like for everyone on my friend's list to still be my friend..VN will continue to be visited by me and if you see me, feel free to say hi.

On the flip side , I really wanted to believe at times myself . The Gruden diarys where , for the most part, good entertainment .

Now that this is over I'll be emptying my "ignore " list . Quite a few of the NEW grudites where truly annoying .
