I hate Kiffin. I hate everything about Kiffin. But Kiffin is not to blame for the current state of UT Football. Look around you - very few sports at UT are the picture of stability right now. That disarray isn't because of Kiffin. Kiffin didn't hire Kiffin, a coach who couldn't even spell Tennessee before he was hired. Kiffin didn't give Kiffin a contract with an inconsequential buy-out. Kiffin didn't hire Basketball and Baseball coaches that were crooked, lying thiefs. Kiffin didn't hire his replacement or give him a contract that was grossly excessive given his experience. Kiffin didn't fire the AD that made set this mess in motion, nor did he hire the current AD who is a bumbling fool.

But if we want to blame somebody for this mess, blame the current Chancellor and his predecessor. They have poorly executed a well-intended plan for the University. That plan has been so poorly executed that revenue is declining rapidly and hard core alums are being alienated on a daily basis. Yes folks, the sky is falling. Our great University is in crisis. We have huge financial issues and even bigger leadership issues. Football is the least of our worries.

None of those people have a vested interest in the health and well being of Tennessee. the worse Tennessee is, the easier it is to steal recruits.

Grasping for any straw I can find, but coming from Cincy Jones does appear to fulfill the Rocky Top prophecy: half bear and the other half cat. :blink:

All of you flamers look idiots. Maybe you should realize that these guys are in here admitting they were wrong and respect that instead of acting like the bully on the playground and tossing around insults so freely. If any of you had half the character of these guys taking their lumps, you'd do the classy thing and walk away once you got your apology instead of acting like the "trailer trash" our fans are perceived as being. You people are the reason people that don't bleed orange hate us. You people are the ones who look like idiots. You people should learn how to be a winner. When we win, we win with class, and if you knew what it really meant to be a volunteer, you'd exhibit that.

Why are people getting so mad at the OG's. Be mad at the people who made the hire. The OG's weren't in control of that. They were told info and they believed it to be true. They were then kind enough to share it with the rest of us who were just following and craving some info.

If someone I trusted told me info of course I would believe it to be true, especially if I was going to share it with others. But things happen, not everything I tell others as truth ends up happening and I have to apologize.

But when all you do is pass info you are told and don't have control over being able to make it happen, sometimes things don't work out. That is life. If you want to be upset, direct at those who were in control here.

To say I'm lost, betrayed, bewildred, digusted, hurt, in mourning, are all understatements.

This guy, this Jones person, is a veritable unknown in my book and will not be any better than Dooley. Even Fulmer in his 2 "losing" seasons won more than this nitwit.

We are allowed to be unhappy, we are not obliged to blindly follow poorly made decisions that drastically impact the team we love. Even loyalists should be pissed, they don't care how we feel. The administration is a damn joke, as is Jones. Please don't be treated like dumb sheep that will show up regardless. Make them respect us as fans! We deserve a program that competes nationally. That ideology doesn't make me a bad fan, nor does it damn those who share this belief. This was such an important decision for Tennessee, we choked. If you support poor choices made by the athletic department, it illustrates to them that those actions are acceptable. The only way to voice your dissatisfaction for the direction the program has taken is to NOT spend your hard earned dollars. It's that simple, YOU CAN STILL LOVE THE VOLS, without financially supporting less than mediocrity.


DON'T BUY ANYTHING UT!!!
