I agree with the first statement you made, but Tressel is not recruiting anyone and we really aren't recruiting heavily against Ohio State.

People can use personal accountability jokes all they want. That's fine.

It really is easy to say things on a message board and not have to come clean with the truth that made you say those things.

It's my fault for believing in people I never met. I will never make that mistake again. At the end of the day I'll never know you. I'm sure you'll sleep fine tonight because you were honestly duped or because you have no conscience at all and can lie without remorse.

After this message it will no longer matter to me. I am preparing to go watch mediocre football now.

So after admitting I was wrong....I'm more disappointed than usual about something like this. It isn't because Jon Gruden isn't our next coach.

I'm wondering if we will ever get the full story of what is actually happening in our administration and our athletic department. I mean that totally unrelated to the Gruden/next coach hunt.

WTH is going on?

Everything that has happened in this search is counterintuitive. Will we ever get straight answers?

Flamers - this is a rumor and speculation board. So you are mad the rumors and sources didn't come true? Guess what, we all are. Get over yourself. Folks share things they hear. It's your choice whether you believe it or not. But if it doesn't prove true, just remember you made the choice to read it and to continue to follow the story line and noone was holding you hostage and making you read it. So lay-off of each other. The only person you should be angry with is yourself for allowing yourself to get emotionally involved with rumors and speculation.

Well, I was wrong. I had no idea we could screw this up as bad as we did. We're looking at the death of Tennessee football. It's a very sad day for the program.

You know good and well if your AD made a hire like this you would be up in arms. Heck half the fan base wants Richt gone now.

As to Gruden if you believe that well I just don't know what to think. It is fact he was researching staff for Tennessee not the NFL. This was reportedly various media including NFL journalist.

Boro, thanks for the information you brought. I know you weren't FOS and were getting solid information. I also appreciate the advice on what time of handgun to buy the other day. I'm purchasing a Springfield this weekend.

I really think Hart was looking for a coach at clearance prices instead of sucking it up for Gruden. So what if Gruden wanted a $20mil buyout! That just means you're not firing him because of a fickle fan base. He should have put in his contract a $3mil get out of contract with the assurance that he would help find his replacement.

Not publicly IMO. It's a bigger mess over there than I gave it credit for.

I have a feeling Hargis will have something interesting to say about it after the beating he took though. That will likely be the only outlet.

Welp, I've chilled, relaxed and as much as this sucks now, it may not suck as bad down the road. I can at least see what the guy can do finishing out this class. I will support him just like I did Dooley but I will not make blind excuses for him like I did with Dooley. I love this football team and want to be the powerhouse we once were so I'll keep cheering and supporting like I always have. I am in no way submitting to mediocrity but I'm a one team kinda guy and will pull for no one else and support and pull for whoever is leading our players into battle. Let's just hope Butch has the connections to build a solid staff and at leastgeget some excitement going around this program again! GBO!!

Also I will not bash Boro or any other guy that brought info. They did not force us to believe them and the main ones had no history of trolling. In the end, they had no control over who the AD hired.

STFU! I was hearing the same thing but didnt type it. NFL journalist this morning on an NFL blog said he couldnt believe this hire and that Gruden to Tennessee was the worst kept secret in the NFL!

You want to be mad or blame someone then blame Hart for Botching the Gruden hire!

I for one do not blame any OG or anyone claiming to be in the know. I wasn't stupid enough to believe any of them. I mean seriously if they had sources worth anything would they be really hanging out here? People who are connected use it to their advantage in careers, etc...not to hang out with common people.

As dissapointed as I am I can honestly say I never ever believed even 1% that we would get Gruden....and that is because people who can't possibly be in the know.....claimed to be in the know. That alone is proof.

Sorry, no way can you say this is a great hire. It is a good hire at best for UT with the potential (yes potential) to be great down the road. Only time will tell. I truly hope it turns out great cause I love my vols. I fear though time is not something we have a lot of at this point.
