*OFFICIAL* March Madness Game Discussion Thread

Ok Barnes hater . Give me 3 names of coaches we have a reasonable shot at stealing that is better? Some folks just don’t understand how competitive basketball is and how much games are dependent on who has the hot hand. We just went cold tonight and that’s not on the coach. Many of those shots fell during the year. Just not tonight .
Believe me, I was on a college basketball staff. I know how hard it is to make it to the big dance.

If Gonzaga wins it all this year im done with basketball. They play in a trash conference all year, then come from behind against two not good teams. Lucky mfers.

They played Texas, UCLA, Duke, Alabama, and Texas Tech out of conference. All tournament teams. What else are they suppose to do?

Memphis played better than I thought they were capable of doing. They don’t struggle to put the ball in the basket

They don’t now but did early in the year. Penny’s offense wasn’t good. But they cut Bates from playing, and the team got better as the season went on.

Didn’t that conference gave 4 teams in the NCAAT this year?

I agree that all mid-majors have an advantage by not having to fight hard in EVERY conference game over 10 weeks. But I’d rather the Zags cut down the nets instead of Duke, Michigan, tOSU, Barn, Arkansas, Arizona, Villanova, UCLA, UNC, and probably a FEW others.

Nope, I get tired of those teams and hate the B10 as well, but give me a team that has to fight from November to March, rather than get 2.5 months off every season

So are the 67 other teams that lose on an annual basis. We’ve only made one Elite 8 in our history. I would love to have had their tournament success. I don’t think people realize how truly hard it is to make deep runs into this tournament.

That's just about what I came on here to say. After round two, only 1/4 of the teams are left. Half the teams lost in the first round. We got twice that far.

Sure, I'm upset that we didn't go farther. I truly thought we would, but that is the nature of this tournament. It just seemed that Michigan stepped on the court with a lot of confidence and a lot of resiliency. The teams went back and forth. They were just hot at the right time, and we weren't.

This team was better than last year's team. We came in 2nd in the regular SEC season, won the SEC tourney, and just didn't quite have enough today. We were 4-1 in tourney play. So, not bad, just not what we wanted.

Gonzaga has been to the Sweet 16 seven consecutive tournaments now, four Elite 8 appearances, and two Final Four / National Championship appearances. All since 2014-15. But yeah I guess that’s underachieving for some people.

If you had said they were underachieving up until this run, I would agree. But Mark Few has a well oiled machine and outside of a couple teams, nobody has had the success to match theirs over the past 7 or 8 years.

Move to the P12 and play a P5 schedule instead of getting 2.5 months off every season.
Gonzaga doesn’t have a football program that would work at the Power 5 level. No Power 5 conference is going to accept them because of that. And remind me again how many teams the Pac12 got in? Same as Gonzaga’s conference. It’s not that good of conference. Realistically, what are they supposed to do?

It kind of sucks but the only thing I have left for this tournament is I want Auburn to lose. After that, I kind of don't care anymore. And if they make the Final Four I seriously might just give up college basketball because that would be a gigantic kick in the balls for them to start playing like they did to finish the regular season and SECT but then turn around and turn it back on for the NCAAT.

That region is weak sauce so I wouldn’t be shocked if they make it there. Maybe Miami has a magical run in them.
