I thought that both were legit. But K is keeping score and will expecting makeups. The situation has to be considered as well. Is the driver in foul trouble? Which team is ahead by 6? So far Arkansas is executing. Several fouls could have been called on Duke under the Arkansas rim but the refs swallowed their whistles. Arkansas overcame and the foul on the plus one HAD to be called. Not calling the first two backfired on the chosen team.

As long as Dook has a comfortable lead, there is no need to give them calls. Actually keeping the score close is very important. The teams that are behind get the 50/50s. Can’t let those viewers change the channel. Not delivering ratings is not an option in a made for TV tournament.

To rig games, you need to get to the coaches or players, not the refs.

I note the story goes to "as long as Duke has comfy lead there's no need for the refs to help....." Duh. How dumb is that? A team is winning...... yeah, without the refs. It's not rigged.

I’ve been consistent. The biggest concern for those running the NCAAT is the ratings, NOT making sure that the blue bloods have it easy. Having the blue bloods advance helps the ratings. So do the Cinderella stories and other story lines (K’s ride into the sunset). As long as Dook can advance by simply being the better team then there is no need to give them assistance. A Dook blow out isn’t what they want either in Prime Time on a Saturday night. The NCAAT doesn’t want to refund the advertisers by failing to deliver the excellent ratings book.
