Not big on Gundy. Would rather have Fisher or Strong. I agree that Gundy will not be our next HC.

I think I heard Rucker say on 104.5 that Sexton is his agent. If true I am sure he is just doing this to get a raise from OK state and Hart did it as a favor towards the Sexton family. I do not want Gundy!

He never got a DC worth a pile of #$#% at OK. State. He probably doesn't know any.

Again, defense is NOT part of his philosophy.

I sure hope so. He is our best realistic hire at this point. Mora Jr. might be better, but he's only been at UCLA one year. I think we're looking for someone with a little more college HC experience and sustained success. He is more proven than Strong, even though I really like Strong, too.

Get Gundy away from Oklahoma and Stoops he will be free to recruit. Spend the money and hire a great SEC minded Def coord. added with his offense and Tennessee would be a force again.

This was the only year that the defense was absolutely awful. Dooley made a huge mistake by switching defensive schemes during such a pivotal year. IMO if Wilcox had stayed Dooley still has a job because we win at least two, probably more, of the close games we lost this year. Im ok with Gundy because i don't think he will come to the SEC and ignore defense. He isn't dumb

Exactly. Gundy is the most proven candidate we have out there. He just needs to exchange for a different shade of Orange.

If I recall correctly, didn't okie state get ousted of the national championship game last year? If he comes, he'll know he needs a good defense to play ball in the SEC. I'm all for it to happen. Players would run through a brick wall for him, and he would do the same for his players. He would be a great hire IMO. I'd take him over Fisher or Strong any day.

This. I believe a coach should do what he feels he needs to. But that infamous press conference shouldn't be used as an example of why kids would play for him. That kid hated his guts for doing that.

I keep seeing Bo Pelini's name being thrown out there but I don't see him being our guy. Looks like all these other coaches are being eliminated as candidates such as Strong and Fisher. Imo if I had to guess, Gundy will be announced as our coach this week.

1 BCS game and 1 Big 12 title? That makes him an A Lister?

Hes got a great record against pitiful teams, woohoo.

He has never had a top 25 recruiting class...

Tell me, what really makes him an A Lister?

I'll gladly take Gundy. He's done pretty good considering the Big 12 Conference he's in and being in the shadow of Stoops and Oklahoma. Recruiting in that area is brutal. They were 11-2 in 2010 and 12-1 in 2011...oh yea, that right there shows he's a terrible coach.

FWIW....Wes Rucker on 104 here in nashville said he thinks the Top Four include...Strong, Fisher, Golden and Gundy. When asked why he thinks Gundy would leave since he's been there for awhile, a good job, good pay. Rucker said," I don't think...I know. It's no secret there's fraction between Gundy and the AD. He's been there five years and this was his worst season. He might be looking for a change and somewhere he stands a better shot".

Who do you want? His team arguably should've been in the national championship game last year. It's hard to criticize the guy because he's never been in the SEC as a head coach. You can say that about all of the coaches we're going after.

If I had my preference I lean towards Strong for defense and recruiting ability.

My argument here is Gundy is not an A lister, and before you respond, Strong isnt either.

A list would be - Gruden, Stoops etc

I believe Brian Kelly would be considered "offensive minded" and ND has one of the best defenses in the nation.
