I think he would be a good hire. He has a winning record (66-35), he is enthusiastic/fiery, players coach, and his recruiting hasn't been terrible given what he has to sell.

Tony Bassilo just said Gundy called a Team meeting at 2:45 today Arkansas has interviewed him also.

Apparently, there is a team meeting at Oklahoma State today around 2:45pm or so. It's going to get talked about on Twitter and everywhere else.

It's a meeting that has been planned so I wouldn't read anything into the fact that they are meeting because I'm told it has been on the docket for a while.

We are going to keep on keep digging along.

I will be extremely happy if we land Gundy. He's a real man and he's just over 40. Seriously, Gundy is a offensive guy who can implement an sec talented offense. Gundy is a well known qb guru, and Bray would be stupid to leave if we got him.

I would usually agree with everyone that he has no desire to go anywhere given his current situation.

BUT

I'm not going to say its out of the picture. Money can do incredible things to people's "loyalty."

Personally, I think this would be a great hire. Gundy has energy, enthusiasm, notoriety, and (winning) experience. I think hiring him would be acceptable, and something people could be excited about.

This would absolutely be an amazing hire and wish people would get in board with this. Gruden ain't happening people. This would be awesome.

I see Gundy as an A-list coach based on his accomplishments. He may be an A- compared to the Gruden, Saban, Stoops, Meyer, Carroll level guys but certainly an A-lister.

Ok will we know if Tennessee was mentioned or not in this team meeting?

If, indeed, this was a meeting to tell his players that he is leaving. We would know about it right away right?

What was the time period like between the time Dooley told his players and he was introduced at TN?

great question...I would imagine a relatively short time since those kinds of discussions rarely stay "in house" for long.

Anyone consider the meeting may be to reassure his players that he isn't going anywhere, but just jockeying for a raise? He is known as a players' coach....

Can we just stop this ****ing idiocy? If you think Gundy is going to come here and then act like defense doesn't matter than you are ****ing retarded. You can't just outscore everyone in this conference. Not only theoretically but for a FACT. We saw that this year over and over again. If Gundy is hired, the MAIN priority will be finding thr best DC available. That stuff works in the Big 12, not here and Gundy knows it. Dude is a smart coach, he will want the best DC he can get. So let's just drop the whole "he doesn't care about defense" garbage.
