What has Mike Gundy ever done besides be average in a weaker Big 12.

He has only had one Conference Title in 8 years of coaching at OSU.

The dude went 7-5 this year.

Gundy's (Les Miles's) seasons at OSU:
4-7 (4-7)
7-6 (8-5)
7-6 (9-4)
9-4 (7-5)
9-4 (LSU)
11-2
12-1
7-5

He had a down year this season. Up until this season, however, he consistently made that program better. It appears that he had an off year this season. He has also done it at OSU without only one Top 25 recruiting class.

The "Man" can coach. Give him more talent, and I think the results will impress.

Ok, 3HL guys on 104.5 reporting that Gundy picked up Hart at the Stillwater airport and drove him to his house for the interview? Hyams said on this same station this morning that Hart was going to talk to Gundy in NYC? ( I know...I Know it's Hyams). I almost want Gundy just to get the job to yell at Hyams in a presser.

Hubbs confirmed on camera today at WBIR that "we went in the front door of Stillwater." Gundy's front door. Literally.

So let's suppose that Gundy interviewed. Why would you want this guy? Think about this.
Let's go back 10 years. Fulmer is coach. He drives to the Knoxville airport, picks up an AD from another school and drives him to his own house in Maryville for a job interview. What would you think of this? I'll tell you right now, most of us here would call for his immediate termination. A former player granting an interview in your own home?
If Gundy did do this, then I wouldn't have him for coach here if he was the last option on earth. What kind of dirt bag does that to their alma mater, who is paying him quite nicely btw.
Now, no coach is obligated to stay at the school they played for. But it is not as if OSU is a lower tier job. They are paying 3.75, play in a major conference and are a legit upper level program. And there are plenty of neutral sites to meet, if there are legit reasons for leaving.

Didn't someone say OK St. finished #3 last year? I said USC finished first and look at where they are now. Look at where OK State is now.

My point being, I don't give a sheet where teams coached by Gundy or Kiffin were ranked at the end of last year! And I don't want either as the HC of UT!

Anything new on the Gundy trail? Just went out to a restraunt and overheard two couples at different tables discussing the news of Gundy possibily coming to Tennessee...the mothers seemed excited about how he sticks up for his players...the fathers liked his fight and national recognition...I just listened...

OSU in the Big 12 is like Georgia or South Carolina in the SEC. OSU has to beat out the Big Three...Texas, Kansas St and Oklahoma to win the conference and contend with TCU, Texas A&M and Baylor.

Gundy knows that winning a SEC conference with 7 teams is a better chance than one with 10 Teams especially when any one of those three can be No 1. Sure we have Bama , Gators and Dogs but only two are in our conference.

Gundy had his presser on Sunday Night and it went like this...


Gundy, as expected, declined to comment on if he had interviewed for the Tennessee job — or has had contact with any other schools — during his Sunday night teleconference to discuss the Cowboys' selection to the Heart of Dallas Bowl.

When asked what he did Sunday, an off day for players, Gundy said he spent it “around the house.”

“I would never, just for everybody involved, never talk about any other job or (give) any confirmation of anything that's gone on,” Gundy said. “…I would prefer not to talk about anything other than Oklahoma State or the bowl game.”
