If they did get him, that is quite a catch. He is a solid, young coach. Lot's of potential, esp if he had quality DC to go with him.

Gundy to arkansas and strong to Tennessee. Yup sounds about right. Ut getting shat end of stick once again.

I think Gundy would be a better fit at Arkansas. Regional ties and style of play.

Likewise, I think Strong is a better fit at UT

I love Gundy's record, I love how well he and his staff evaluate, recruit, and develop players, I have two worries though on him:

1. Defense? I know some have talked about how they have faced some of the most prolific offenses in CFB this year which contributed to their rankings being down. The SEC is about defense right now, I'm worried that Gundy will focus so much on the offense that building a championship D won't be a priority.

2. Is Gundy an Oklahoma St. guy? By that I mean, is he a guy that is from Oklahoma, he played at OSU and has coached at OSU for all but a couple years of his career. My question is whether he's been successful because he's an amazing coach or because he's an amazing fit for OSU? He's lived and breathed OSU football for most of his adult life so it's easier to sell recruits on OSU when you clearly believe every word of what you're saying. He also knows the land, he knows the people, he knows Oklahoma. That's wonderful for OSU having a guy so familiar with your area and school, but how is he going to handle being somewhere else. He's coming to a state that is not a hotbed for talent, it's not flatland Oklahoma, it's not the same kind of Southerners he's used to. I know every coach faces that, but not ever coach has been at the same school for so long. I'm confident in his coaching ability, but I'm worried that we will find out in a couple years that this guy is just an amazing fit for Oklahoma St.

Gundy has done the unthinkable at okie state. The man has had more success than les miles there. The hate for him is astonishing yet people want a guy who has had one good season. Lets completely ignore the first two seasons. Sure gundy went 7-5 this year but that was expected. Hell I thought they wouldnt even become bowl eligible. So lets jump on the bandwagon of a guy who hasnt done jack shat versus somebody who built a program with recruiting leftovers from Oklahoma, texas, and even Nebraska. Louisville was the "Alabama" of that conference yet still managed head scratching/embarrassing loses. Thanks. /rant over

Anyone think the announcement of Gundy is going to be after Fulmer is recognized? With the excitement that the Gundy news will bring, it would be less than classy to rob Fulmer out of complete notoriety by announceing prematurely.

I'd be fine with this hire, though I like Strong. Gundy seems to have more support from the fan base, but some will not be happy with any hire other than Gruden.
