The man makes 3.1/year with another 600 grand a year lumped into a final payout at the end of the contract(4.2 million dollars more). His buyout as you said is 3 million. The fact that Hart even decided to interview the man tells me Hart is not playing around and is not looking to go on the cheap a la Hamilton. It's a good sign.

I think we're waiting on Gundy. Strong would already be the coach if he was Hart's first choice.

Good post from OSU thread below. They are having an epic meltdown on their board right now about this by the way. There is apparently a lot to the rift that exists between Gundy, AD and Pickens, which appears to be really fracturing their fanbase.

I think I can add a few details and that will tell you why the other schools are interested. Gundy is 48-16 or .7500 winning percentage over his last 5 seasons including the 7-5 this year in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year - the best 5 season run for OSU ever - just beating out the late 1980's run. He won an outright Big 12 Championship (something the program had never done in the Big 8 or Big12) and a legitimate shot at playing in the MNC game (something many inside and outside our our program said would never happen). His teams have gone to 7 bowls in a row (a record for OSU - remember hoping for a bowl game?). If he stays he will easilly have the most wins and will probably have the best winning percentage of any OSU coach in the modern era.

His resume is light years better than Miles' was when he left OSU for LSU. The only reason other schools haven't previously recruited him hard was the perception he would not leave. If he does not take Arkansas or Tennessee gigs I think some even bigger "name" programs might come calling.

Gundy will use interview leverage to get a bump in pay at OSU as will Fisher at FSU. Both will stay put.

Local Arkansas radio is reporting they've hired Mike Gundy. FYI, this is now the 48th reported Razorback coach.

@PGA_JohnDaly is saying Gundy from Oklahoma St will be Arkansas next coach, just a hunch hog fans, #razorbacks
