Official Nashville Predators Thread

Exactly (although the Vezina hasn't been awarded yet). But no, Poile (the all time winningest GM in NHL history) should totally listen to OJJ who probably never watched a hockey game before 2010.

Yep never watched hockey until this year, or sports in general lol

Lol. I’ve been watching playoff hockey too long to know that any team can lose to any team in any given series. This isn’t the NBA where the top team in each conference has a cake walk to the conference finals before hitting adversity. Sucks, but welcome to playoff hockey.
Exactly. Would have been real nice if they re-seeded each round in the NHL playoffs. We would have played SJ while Winnipeg and Vegas destroyed each other. NHL playoffs are a 2.5 month physical grind unlike any other sport. With that being said, both Conference Finals series should be solid.

So what do we do now? Aren't we pretty tight against the salary cap and I know we don't have much in the way of draft picks either. Are we banking on Tolvanen being the best thing since sliced bread after all the hype he had coming out of the KHL and Olympics?

This is correct how I understand it

That's one thing I don't like as a new fan to the NHL. This should have been a conference final series and not the 2nd round.

Now that I would like to complain about. The NHL seeding is bull. No way the 1 and 2 team in the whole league should play in the 2nd round. I’m pulling for Tampa or Caps. Screw the Jets and I don’t want to see Vegas win it in year one.

It's absolutely miserable. Now I have to pray the Vols can just make a bowl next year. An who knows how the Titans will perform. I've been cursed with horrible teams, and teams that have mental meltdowns in the postseason when there actually great.

It’s starting to reach the point where it just isn’t fun anymore. If Pruitt doesn’t make it, I may find other things to do with my time and money.

Yes to heck with ALL Canadian teams. And No way Vegas in year 1

I'm kinda pulling for the Knights to show how insane the expansion rules were.

I wouldn't expect to see too many changes in the off-season. This is a good and relatively young team. Also really wish we didn't lose Neal in the expansion draft last year.. that hurt.

They did prior to 2013. Not really sure what the driving force behind the change was tbh. Although not re-seeding helped us last year when we stole Chicago's #1 seed.

I just want to win 1 championship in my lifetime. A national title(football or basketball), Super Bowl, Stanley Cup. I'd take any of them.

Same. Going by my list of teams one can tell I'm not a bandwagon fan. I hate those with a passion so I'm turn here because essentially I'm one now with the Preds. I got hooked during the playoff run last year and haven't looked back. I always thought hockey was a bunch of white guys fighting but sitting and watching my first game last year I loved it.

I believe this Preds team will win one. If Saros can hold down the fort in 2 years we should be fine. Ellis is the only player that we may lose in the near future. The rest of the team will be intact for at least 3 years.

I think Johansen should be the next captain.

Tenn fans have had to suffer through the end of the Fulmer era, the Kiffin fiasco, Doofus, Lyle, Fundraiser Hamilton, Bama Dave, Bahama John, countless embarrassments on and off the field.

If Pruitt doesn't work out, go ahead and bulldoze Neyland.

Maddening. They were in a funk since about two weeks before the regular season ended. Peaked too soon? I do however believe it's time to play Saros for the future.

I thought for sure we'd at least show up for this game after all it took to force a Game 7. But no, same crap different home game, and you could tell from the beginning it was that way.

Another onw of my teams choke a golden opportunity away. Sports aren't fun anynore. Just once I waant to feel the joy of my team winning it all

I'd like to see us pursue Tavares this offseason. We need a high end offensive superstar to complement Forsberg.

Offense wasn't the problem in the playoffs. It was horrible defense, which is the strength of the team, and Pekka was typical playoff Pekka. Pekka needs to play in about 45 games next year.

I was saying from Game 1 of the Avs series that they weren't playing like a Cup team - I hate it when I'm right.

The Preds still have a window where they should be good for the next few years. I doubt they get a Cup though. If they were to get one, it would have been either last year or this year.

So I feel like somebody punched me in the gut this morning. It sucks knowing your team lost, not because of a shortage of talent, but a lack of execution and effort. This team was entitled and it showed in their play.
