anyone see any good signs other than our d?

Even though he hasn't been spectacular, Ainge is making some better throws. There were three long passes that were on fingertips. Our receivers still don't understand that sometimes you have to try and make a play. Even if they're covered.

I have to agree. Ainge has missed a couple, but has done an OK job.

Like I said, he doesn't look spectacular, but he's moving the ball with his arm some and threw for a TD. Hopefully here at halftime he'll realize that he's done a decent job and settle down.

I really think the big difference in this game is our receivers not going the extra mile to try and make a play. I have seen the ND receivers make some darn good catches.

I want Weis to do nothing but try and run the play where Quinn throws behind the line and 83 tries to throw it down the field. That one has helped us a bunch.

You're right. They are making the big plays, ours are expecting the ball to be perfect or else.

True, but the really big difference is that we once again are screwing the pooch on special teams. You can't muff a kick AND get one run back for a TD and expect to win many games.

special team play is killing us

its time fulmer to play the first team defense on punt coverage....

Do we have any fans there or is NBC trying to cut the orange out of the cam shots?

Can he put em on punt return too?

I guess I just don't watch NBC that much and have never noticed, but this really is a folksy Notre Dame love fest.

I think Trooper is even less of a problem than Sanders was- by far.

Trooper showed tremedous skills during the preseason- also known as the period before Fulmer stops letting his O coaches do their job. He's also about the only coach I've ever seen actively working the sidelines during games to trying and get players- all of them- up and into the game.

I'm just hoping he sticks around enough years to develop into our OC... or HC even.

it is a ND love fest but atleast it is not a UT hate fest lie CBS...i honestly think we are jinxed when we have cbs and verne lundquist calling the game

I'm sick of seeing that the stats for the game are close and the score is anything but.
