*****Official NSD Thread 2017 updated as the commits come in

2018 is a better in state year than 2017, they already have 2 top 10 players including a 5 star in state who are helping him recruit. If he does well in state in 2018 everything is fine. But of course negas in here can't allow for optimism even tho it is true.

I think some people really got burned this time last year when they were told this 2017 class would be nuts. We had a 5* qb, 5* WR committed and everyone thought they'd be the pillars of this class. Then Dabo outrecruited our staff and won a national title.

I'm guessing that's why some are having an issue getting too excited about next recruiting class, but I doubt the same events unfold. Hopefully it's a top 10 class.

Get the hell out of here! Don't you know Butch is God. He SAID this is a top notch class so you had better pound sand with that negative attitude of yours. You don't belong in the recruiting forum!

How did that sound? Am I getting better at attacking other posters? I've been trying hard to become a sunshine pumper.
You sound like a butthurt FFer to me. Take your own advice please

It's not an argument. BUTCH said it. In his mind this is as good as it gets. He doesn't feel like he has to do any better. That's all I'm saying. I already know that the vast majority of people feel like this is a sub part class considering that the program is supposed to be getting better and better each year.

If people want to point to our record improving each year by 1 game as "improving" but then willingly ignore this stuff then all credibility is lost. You are simply like these people that look for the highest star rating and go with that.

Butch may have said that but he doesn't mean it. He knows he lost out on Higgins, Ray and others. Don't be naive

Nothing new here. Next year is our year. That's the official Tennessee motto.

You don't think Butch wanted every single top recruit he could get? Just because he didn't land them doesn't mean he didn't want them. You literally try to cast him in a negative light over everything. It's moronic.

What's Butch supposed to say?!! "Hey these guys that just committed 3+ years of their life to our team are just okay. Not quite what we expected though..."? Come on...

You know who sits around on NSD trying to convince themselves all their recruits are underrated and will surely be future stars?

Schools like Vandy. Just saying.

No Vandy doesn't do that. Vandy fans fully realize they suck and they don't bother with this stuff. Only dillusional Tennessee fans do this.

No doubt, but at least according to guys at Volquest and 247, there aren't guys in state like Stevens and Rogers who will just never really consider us. In fact, if you look at the in state guys, almost all are 100% crystal balled to Tn. It's early and that can change, but it's still better than we were last year. Plus, Higgins decommitted early and didn't help us at all. Mays and Taylor aren't going anywhere and are actively recruiting for the staff. An in state 5 ⭐️ has a lot of pull

Ive watched the whole war room presentation on utsports and havent seen coach strip or mahoney at all! Writing on the wall!?

This class does not compare favorably to Dooley's last class.

Tennessee’s average star rating is 87.11. That ranks No. 20 in the nation. By comparison, former Tennessee coach Derek Dooley’s final class had an average star rating of 88.22.

Despite ranking, Tennessee's 2017 recruiting class might not be all that it seems

Didn't Ziti address this when it got beat to death last night? Something about the way 247 ratings work with class size. The more players you take the more it affects the numbers. Simply stating the final stats with class sizes being different is comparing apples to oranges. It's not accurate to take it at face value.

If I can find I'll re-post.

Imagine our 7 or 8 lowest rated commits decommitted tomorrow.

Would our class be better or worse?

Would our star average go up or down?

You've got to keep that stat in context when using it is all in saying.

He even makes other NegaVols look like Sunshine Pumpers.

Really that's every school in college football except for like the top 5 or 6.

It's not like we're putting together an Ole Miss caliber class or something.
