Official Peyton Manning megamerge

has titans fan forgotten they have jake locker, that looked very impressive when he was on the field last year??

No team, because for the 1000 time its pretty much impossible for him to be traded.

Well your right. He wont and can't be traded but come march 8th he will be RELEASED. that means he can sign with any team he chooses. If your gonna make comments like your an expert then maybe you should actually know what your talking about...

A little sensitive are we? Released maybe, traded no, retirement very likely. I am no expert but I do know what I am talking about. He can't be traded because the league year starts after he is due his 28mil bonus. No way the Colts give him 28mil then trade him. But the most likely scenario is he retires.

Tennessee fans lobbying Manning to consider Titans - WRCBtv.com | Chattanooga News, Weather & Sports

I found this article interesting. It would be amazing to see Peyton return back to Tennessee, and play for the Titans. If he does get released that is, which the writing seems to be on the wall here. If the Colts release Peyton he will have to option to go wherever he wants, and the Titans actually seem like a logical choice for him. Not only does he have a strong fan base in Tennessee, but he would also get the opportunity to play against his former team and prove to them that he still has what it takes. If he is indeed healthy, he would make the Titans an immediate playoff contender imo. Should be interesting to see how this plays out.

Yes because Peyton wouldn't have any fanbase if he went to any team outside the state of Tennessee. The Titans just drafted Jake Locker with the #8 overall pick last year. They aren't going to go after Peyton Manning.

I agree with your points. No way would the Titans, Vikings or Texans get him. If I had to guess IF they released him I would say 49ers, Jets, Seahawks or Cardinals.

I think your list is a good one. I would rank them in this order:

49ers
Cardinals
Seahawks
Jets

I would love to see Peyton back at UT... Not as a HC right off the bat, but as an OC. I have read threads on this site say that just because he has played football doesnt mean he would make a good coach. I would have to disagree... Peyton carries himself like a business man. He didnt need an OC in INDY after the first 5 yrs.... He has ran that show ever since. I have no doubt that with his work ethic he could be highly successful in the college ranks, especially with his football IQ. Possibly the smartest football player to ever lace them up when it comes to breaking down defenses. If not OC then he would make a great QB coach IMO...

He has said many times he will not coach at the college level due to recruiting.

I mean, does anyone honestly think Peyton Manning wants to kiss the assses of high school seniors as to convince them to play for UT instead of Alabama?

Not gonna happen.

I know it. The thought of Peyton walking into some 17 year olds house to convince him to come to UT is laughable

Here is a quote from Peyton himself:

"In the NFL, people will kind of say, 'Well, you're a good play-caller, you'd be a good coach.' I'm only good at calling plays when I'm playing quarterback. I think at it when I get on the sidelines. I've called some plays in the past from the sidelines … and I stink at it."

Colts QB Peyton Manning has no interest in coaching Tennessee Volunteers

He's gotta give it more of a go than that. He's accustomed to calling the play after he sees what the D is giving him. Calling from the sideline is a whole new ballgame, but that doesn't mean he can't learn it. BTW, when he's calling plays from the sideline, wouldn't that mean Sorgi or Painter was quarterbacking?

I doubt he'll ever coach college. Probably won't even coach.

I'm sure he could learn and get better. My point is that doesn't sound like a guy who is interested in coaching any time soon.
