Official Peyton Manning megamerge

Notice all the people siding with Manning are Colts fans? Which means 99% became Colts fans because of Manning. You guys are as bad as Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls fans. On par with Florida Gator bandwagon fans who were probably at one point Miami and FSU fans.

If this were Tom Brady, you'd side with the owner. Only difference here is you've been riding Manning's coattails. As great as Peyton has been, he won one championship, his brother has a chance to pass him on Sunday and the only reason Peyton won that championship was thanks to the the defense during the playoff run. We get it... you'll blindly follow any Tennessee player that is an all-time great. It's amazing how quickly how many of you probably turned your back on Crompton, Poole, Pearl, Dooley etc. but Peyton Manning can do no wrong because you'd follow him into the depths of hell.

Tennessee fans are fine and Colts fans are fine but the combination of the two tend to breed some of the most obnoxious, least knowledgeable fans you could ever dream up. A number of them pull for the Chiefs as their second favorite team because of Eric Berry. What is that? It's disturbing that so many people are obsessed with one man. It's weird enough we all cheer for a group of men to play a game with each other on the field but now we have people are obsessed with specific ones. Uh.... that's normal. Not fruity at all...

All the Colts fans I know freely admit that they'll stop being Colts fans when Peyton leaves. And "turned your back on Crompton, etc."? Get a grip.

You sound kind of goofy - I see a Houston Astros logo there - you sticking with them when they move to the AL and possibly change the team name from Astros

If they are looking for a new team, I suggest they pick one closer to home, this time. Maybe pick a team with a promising young QB. Maybe even a team with a ROTY type QB. It would be even better if that team had a QB from the SEC, but one that never played Tennessee as a starter.
Can't think of any team in particular, though.

Nashville is closer than Charlotte.

I still say Houston is the most logical choice. They have a narrow window of opportunity right now with Foster, Tate and Johnson. Schaub will not get them there in 2-3 years and only Peyton (if he's healthy) can make a team overcome coaching ineptness.

Nashville is closer than Charlotte.

But if they were ever real Colts fans, they've gotten used to hating on the Titans. Atlanta is closer than Charlotte, but there's nothing the Panthers could ever do to make me support the Falcons. Feels gross to even think about.

Indy is not too bad of a drive from Middle Tenn and they are about to draft a promising young QB so maybe too many won't jump ship.

Just read an article, Peyton is not healthy and is expected to retire. I hope he stays on as maybe QB coach

Yeah, not sounding good for PM's future career prospects. Who is going to commit the money to him if he can't demonstrate he's fully healthy? If someone does sign him after being released, it would seem prudent to have some rock-solid injury and performance clauses in his contract to protect the team with whom he signs. In that scenario, I wonder if PM would even submit himself to something like that...

Whatever the case, he's had a brilliant career and pretty much will be able to do whatever he wants when it's over and he'll be set for the rest of his life.

Several different guys are saying he will retire instead of being released. From what I read he just is not healthy and won't risk it.

Peyton is a first ballot HOF just sad he career was cut short but he was more than a pleasure to watch. And if this really is the end at least my wife and I were in the building for his last game.

Tennessee fans lobbying Manning to consider Titans - WRCBtv.com | Chattanooga News, Weather & Sports

I found this article interesting. It would be amazing to see Peyton return back to Tennessee, and play for the Titans. If he does get released that is, which the writing seems to be on the wall here. If the Colts release Peyton he will have to option to go wherever he wants, and the Titans actually seem like a logical choice for him. Not only does he have a strong fan base in Tennessee, but he would also get the opportunity to play against his former team and prove to them that he still has what it takes. If he is indeed healthy, he would make the Titans an immediate playoff contender imo. Should be interesting to see how this plays out.

Fine with me...........
I only had my Colts hat because of Manning.

I hadn't been a Colts fan since Bubba Smith!

I agree with your points. No way would the Titans, Vikings or Texans get him. If I had to guess IF they released him I would say 49ers, Jets, Seahawks or Cardinals.

I agree with you! For Peytons sake, I'd like to see him go to San Fran. The best young defense in the league, M.Crabtree, V.Davis, F.Gore. And Alex Smith was just signed a one year contract. He himself is going to be a free agent in acouple months. I think SF gives Peyton the best chance of getting another ring or two.

Not going to happen, Peyton Manning will play at INDY or retire...simple as that..

I'm unsure what you're saying. If you're saying that he'll retire because he won't be healthy enough to play, then I can see that happening. If you're saying that he'll retire because he doesn't want to play anywhere else but Indianapolis, then I disagree. A lot.

Peyton Manning is as intense a competitor you'll find and I highly doubt he'll be so sentimental that he'll hang it up if the Colts release him. If he's healthy enough to play again and the Colts release him, I'd bet the farm he plays somewhere else for a number of reasons, including the pursuit of another Super Bowl and to prove the Colts made a mistake in releasing him.

Of course, that's predicated on him being healthy enough to play, but if he's healthy enough to play and the Colts release him, he plays. I don't think there's any question about that.
