For LG, I used to be a huge cowboys fan. Emmitt Smith was one of my all time favorite players. Living in Dallas, I never heard any rumors about him being v a bad egg.
I've always wondered, does UF hold him in esteem the way we do Peyton? Does he give back to UF with time and money? He seems like a class act, got any stories about him?
Sorry was ....busy.
Anyways, I started law school a few years later than most, '92. Emmitt came back in the summers to complete his degree, and I saw him a few times shooting pool at a bar called the Lavendar Mullet, which was right above the Purple Porpoise.
Had no interactions with him. As I recall he had a smallish entourage, a couple of girls. I do remember he had on like a warm up type thing on. You know, all one color, stripe down the side kind of deal.
As far as holding him in high esteem on par with you guys and Manning, no, but that's largely because NO SCHOOL ON EARTH has the obsession you guys do with Manning. Now, part of that I think is because of his long run in the NFL. But I have been of the opinion you guys are a bit out of control with it.
Before the inevitable comparison to Tebow, I'd say that's a bit different. Tebow had no NFL career, but what he did at the college level truly changed the Gator program, at least at the time. And so we tend to hold him in the place we do just because of what he did as a Gator, whereas I think part of your idolation of Manning is more because of wanting to associate a successful pro with your program.
My perception. For what it's worth.
Thankfully I can brag about never seeing a single episode of that show, but it's not surprising that a guy who made his career using his legs and feet could be a kickass dancer.

Pelt this man with fetid tomatoes
It was the only season I watched. McMom has a crush on Emmitt. Lol.
He seems like a great guy and your university should be proud to claim him, imo.
Forget tomatoes, I'm bringing the D Cell batteries.
It's my right to have Fathead posters of him in every room if I want. And if I want to drive a Buick covered by Nationwide Insurance because Peyton does, that's my right. And I'm not obsessed just because I live off of Papa Johns Pizza and watch every game on DirecTV that I paid for with my Mastercard. I even hold my nose and buy that drink that starts with G because it makes Peyton go. I think they should rename it Peyton-ade personally since he made it famous. And I'm not crazy for burning every bit of Reebok apparel I owned because Nike is so much better.
Nobody talks like that about the GOAT and gets away with it. Nobody.
