It was Eric Gordon and no he didnt intentionally hurt Lattimore. It was a clean, fundamentally sound tackle. Smaller players are taught to take out bigger players legs because they will probably get trucked in a head on collision. Thats like saying "Ok E. Moseley, go lay out marlin lane" It won't happen.

OK, you've convinced me thoroughly. Took out the single thing to correct my erroneous ways while ignoring the core of the post. I've now changed my mind, Hurd run as upright as you want. Damn what the coaches say. Nevermind the Eric Gordons or anyone else. Just keep good form while doing a Tennessee Walking Horse impression. After all who wants to see a 6'3" guy hunched over like a 90 year old man? Got it.
I suspect it was a Georgia RB, my memory is spotty.
Whole point is teaching Hurd to run low is in his best interests given what happens during games.
There was nothing wrong with your pointing out that tall RBs need to learn to protect themselves. All of the stuff about defensive players intentionally going for injuries even in pee wee was a bit over the top and I think you see that now.
Ga RB or a Ga TE. Maybe a WR? Regardless, it was probably a UGA player because about a dozen of them got hurt in that game. I think they were blaming the turf afterwards?

Sutton hits Marshall with his shoulder right below Marshall's hip. Much higher and he could be called for targeting a defenseless receiver.
He was not aiming for the knee. The leg he hit happened to be planted at the exact moment he hit Marshall and it resulted in an unfortunate injury. Sutton hit Marshall (who outweighs Sutton by a measly 33lbs) in pretty much the only way he could.
Stop being a potato, Woodsman.
Interesting how some posters will size on something to illustrate how right they are. All the whole ignoring the foci of another's post. This potato says one final time the point I was making is that Hurd must learn to run behind his pads (or low) for his own protection. Now, taro root, ignore it again and knee me with another, "How dry I am" post. GEEZ, straw men are everywhere.
Your post is so riddled with psuedo-intellectuallism, I'm not even sure you know the point you're trying to make.
Sutton didn't take out Marshall with a targeted hit. Football is violent, especially on RBs. I agree that Hurd needs to learn to run lower. However, I adamantly don't agree that every single hit is a targeted hit and UT has specifically targeted.
As you can see, no direct contact is made with the knee here. Where should Sutton have hit Marshall? Can't hit him on his knees and can't hit him anywhere near his shoulderpads because you could slide up and contact the helmet.
Sutton had a 2' window to take down a guy that was 30lbs heavier. It resulted in an injury, unfortunately, but those injuries happen.
Now.
If you had taken the "Marshall was injured because he was running upright and was extended for a bad pass made by Murray and Hurd, given how tall he is should learn to shrink his center of gravity and lessen the amount of time his feet are on the ground so as to avoid planted leg hits resulting in injuries." I'd have agreed with you.
Instead you chose to try to say that UT players were targeting their foes and I don't entirely agree. Then you put on the intellectual show (with plenty of strawman arguments yourself) and just came across as a try-hard.
First, you don't seem to know what a straw man is.
Go ahead, I know you have to GOOGLE it. But that's Ok, the real issue is Hurd being taught to run low as a RB. But nevermind that either. Let's see if we can put this to rest.
You're right and I'm wrong. If you wish I'll make it a song.
From VQ
"Marlin Lane has absolutely impressed, and he's run with better vision and decision-making. But Lane was absent from Thursday's practice because of a possible hand injury, and the extent of that injury is not yet available."

Lol, not gonna lie that gave me a good laugh.
I wasn't saying he doesnt need to run low. I was just saying that wasn't an instance of someone playing dirty. But no doubt defensive players come out there with the intent ring your bell
Don't sweat it, Vol865, I have my azz backwards days like anyone else. And today is one of them. Your last statement is close enough to what I mean. I want to see Hurd have a full college career and a monster pro career afterwards. So hopefully, he listens to his coaches and benefit from it.

I dont think thats too big of a deal. Most RBs have to learn that and naturally a 6'3" guy will too. Im pretty sure Bryce Brown had to work on that and he was 6'0"
