We’ll have to see what the data says, but I hardly think her first takeaway is accurate. I expect Swamy to pick up some share coming out of the debate last night.
Agree with her opinion on DeSantis and Haley.
I can’t see Christie moving his position much if any at all.
My criticism of Vivek has been since the beginning that he is charismatic and is good at articulating slogans but that the policy substance behind all of that is, at best, very weak and poorly thought through. Last night I think was a good example of that as he would loudly announce some platitude, get called out for the specifics, and then just grin and look a bit lost on what to do next.
A good example of that, and lost in a lot of the discussion, were the remarks concerning a federal ban on abortion. Haley I thought shined on that by pointing out that the issue is pointlessly academic since there is no way the Senate in the next term will have the 60 votes needed to pass it, anyway. That was a practical answer to a difficult issue and made her look practical and smart whereas the others were absolutist or couldn't give a consistent answer.
