Official Seed List Watch Party Thread

For sure…worst case that I see right now is getting Greensboro and drawing Duke or UNC in a 2nd round matchup, that would suck.

Absolutely. And it’s something that is definitely possible because you know the committee salivates at the idea of a deep run from blue blood programs. I fully expect Duke/UNC to be an 8 or 9 there. It’s kind of why I’d prefer a different region.

We can prove our point of deserving a higher 1 seed simply by beating Ala. twice and Ky at Rupp.

Do that and case closed. Purdue will lose 1 or 2 games, Houston may not have another loss.

If we take care of business with Ala and Ky, Houston and UT should be the top overall seeds, not necessarily in that order. :)
I’m glad several of you are thinking Purdue will lose a couple. Edey looks like an unmovable force right now and he makes his free throws if you decide to hack him

We have to stay ahead of either Houston or Alabama to get Birmingham. I really hope we do because 1) you know if they have the opportunity to put Duke or UNC in Greensboro, they'll take it, and 2) Thursday/Saturday works much better for my schedule than Friday/Sunday which Greensboro is.

They could put UT and Alabama in Birmingham while in different brackets. Would make it an impossible 2nd day ticket.

Initially I was opposed to landing in the west bracket. But if TN got to the second weekend, Las Vegas would be a cool spot.

Absolutely they could. My point was that Birmingham is off the table if Alabama and Houston are ahead of us. Even if we are ahead, I wonder if they still give Birmingham to those 2 and ship us to Greensboro since it's only 30 more miles.

Yes we would absolutely be in Greensboro. And I'm fine with that.

There’s been some recent years where when you’re already far like Houston is from Birmingham they just put you wherever, at 700 miles what’s 1,000 miles, they’ll consider what’s easier flights for folks to get as most aren’t driving 700 miles. So Orlando, Sacramento and Denver all could theoretically make more sense for Houston than Birmingham.

I was just referring to the idea that where we are placed in a region will have a recruiting impact, can’t say I’ve ever heard that one before is all.
I like NY Ballers. Gritty, tough and have that mentality. Never hurts to have one or two on the team.

I am only hoping that history repeats itself, as in Rutgers beating them. Hopefully someone like Indiana will sneak up on them.

All of those have a great chance of landing in the FF. I love that Duke, UNC, and KY aren’t in the mix. And no. It’s not a weak field. There’s just actual sharing the wealth parity instead of the same names collecting all of the NBA talent to fill out their entire starting fives plus half of their benches.

Still in good position for the top 3 seed line. Gotta find consistency. No way to spin it, the performance last night was awful. It’s one thing to lose a trap game on the road, but the performance itself was just horrendous. This team has to find ways to keep the foot on the gas and hit the knockout punches when they are there. Up by 22 vs Texas, almost let them get to within single digits. Built a 6 point lead vs Florida, collapsed every time we got a lead. Seems they get complacent every now and then, can’t have that from here on out. When we have to rely strictly on guard play because our posts can’t do ANYTHING, we have a tough time. Some of these guys are gonna have to take control and lead this team when the going gets tough.

Fwiw Barttorvik and Teamrankings both still have us around 45-50% chance of a 1 seed, which is higher than I would’ve thought and judging by the vibe on the board guessing higher than most would’ve thought. And that’s not projecting we go undefeated, that’s both sites having us go 25-6 (14-4), so losing 2 more games, and still being on the 1 seed line. Obviously would still largely depend on what other teams do, mainly Kansas, Texas, Arizona & UCLA as of today, but found it interesting.
