Never want to lose to UK but that embarrassing loss could be good in the long run, much like the one we took on the road in Rupp last season.

I hope that this represents a changing of the guard. Instead of the same blue bloods dominating Final Fours and Elite Eights, there will now be any of a few dozen teams rotating through the last 2 weekends of the NCAAT. Enough of UK, KU, UNC, Duke, and a couple remnants from the original Big East getting the majority of those spots.

I try not to take too much stock in some of these brackets on bracket matrix, but the updated bracket from 5star has us still as a 3 seed in their updated bracket after the Texas win and Texas as a 2 seed?? Some of these people's decisions when making brackets/top 25 baffle me.

It really makes you wonder why they even waste the time and energy making a bracket, filling it out, and publishing it, if they are going to proceed with such an uninformed view of the landscape they are trying to cover.

If/When we get a 1 seed. The East Region? Would be my preference.
Reason: Talent and Recruiting in that area.
ZZ & Awaka would also have an some home area cooking and support.

Regarding Brackets, I agree but too early. Still interesting to see what some are thinking. AHB Bracket

Well this 5 Star guy was apparently "getting worried about" Tennessee, but that was admittedly prior to the Texas game. The Texas game Saturday night had a chance to change his mind a little. He must have been looking for more than an 11 point beating, because the next day he posted his new bracketology with Tennessee still a 3 seed. And who is the 2 seed in the same region? You guessed it - Texas!
  • Tennessee has continued to beat up on the middle and bottom parts of the SEC, but when push has come to shove they’ve struggled against the better competition this year. It’s a weird conundrum for this group, as they’ve now gone back to Zakai Zeigler in the starting lineup and moved the big man Plavsic to the bench. Either way this team will defend at an elite level, they are just trying to figure out how to generate consistent offensive play as they’re teetering on entering the vulnerable territory due to the inefficiency on that end. There is still a lot of love for the Vols around the Country, but man am I getting worried about this group. Maybe it’s short sighted, but the data is screaming at us. Sure, against bad teams they are able to suffocate and dominate, but in the tournament to win 4 straight against elite teams, I’m not convinced yet. Maybe the recent lineup changes can make a difference. Tonight they welcome fellow top-10 team Texas with a chance to change my mind a little.

As of this AM we have 1 pushing a 3 line in the updated bracketmatrix.

Yet that is where we focus. His opinion is his opinion. He appears to be wrong as it is not even close to the others as it pertains to Tennessee.

Patience and if one has us at the 3 seed then so be it.

The rest have us at a 1 or 2 that are updated. KenPom is overall 1, Net and RPI, and the polls AP and Coaches polls have us as a 1 or 2 so this person idiot ignores it and puts us at a 3 so be it.

I was looking at the ESPN bracket this morning and UK moved UP to an 11 seed. How the F does that happen when they lose at home like they did?

Much like the AP poll you’ve got outliers, whether it’s than Vol Twitter has pissed them off or they’re an Alabama fan or whatever it may be you do have the human aspect with these where you’ve got some who just hold a grudge and let it impact them.

9pm: Baylor vs. Texas
9pm: Iowa State vs. Texas Tech


I went with Texas but I can see it either way or one of those double edged games…I think those 2 are pretty close together on the end of 2/early 3 seed line, road win would move the needle a bit for Baylor and obviously we have a W over Texas so 1. The more they win the better it looks and 2. If it comes down to us vs. them we’d have a head to head in our favor where as we wouldn’t with Baylor.

Yeah I think going with Texas is the right move there with that game. Like you said we have the head to head with them.

I guess the 5 Star guy figures Texas is better than UT on a neutral court, and the only reason Tenn beat them was due to the home court advantage.

I agree the home court is a huge advantage, but not to the extent of 11 points.

I can see where one could argue Tn as being anywhere from a #1 ranking down to #5 but nothing lower than a high two seed at this point

My personal opinion :
1. Purdue
2. Tenn
3. Houston
4. Alabama
5 . K State

Perhaps an ignorant Q, but do the bracket predictors claim to be predicting the final seeds of the committee or plotting a snapshot of results to date?

Figuring 2 more Vols losses--depending on who--keeps the good guys out of stone cold 1 seed lock. But bitch slapping UTjr says 'who's your daddy' and "we're number 1'

I think if we beat Bama, we are locked into top 3 seed of tourney. We lose and I think we gotta win out to stay top 4.
