Official Tennessee v. Mississippi State game thread / 6:07pm EST / ESPN

If you consider Dee Bost tripping over himself as he falls around Melvin Goins beating your man, then that's your perogative. The only thing he can do there is pass the ball. BW needs to have some level of IQ to recognize that.

Go watch it again. When Williams committed, Bost was not on his way down. I just watched it again and Bost didn't even start falling until he was within arms-length of Williams.

Williams didn't lose this game for us. You are just looking for a scapegoat. Dude is legit and we'd be way more lost without him.

Really though, does it matter to argue about the tournament at this point? We won't be going anywhere in it.

I'm not looking for a scapegoat. I never said he cost us the game, but he is 100% to blame for that last bucket. There was no one to help on that man when Williams left and it was a very simple play to get him the ball. If he stays with his man, we win. Simple as that.

Plenty of other things cost us the game (missed layups, bad 3 point shots, bad perimeter defense, poor shooting, etc.)

I don't know. Maybe those years when we were good and went nowhere are an indication that maybe we could go far when we aren't good.

Tough loss in a game the Vols SHOULD have won! Should NOT have let MSU go down the court and score with under 10 seconds left. Vols now need to win 2 games in SEC tourney and hope to get 2 more regular season wins. Will be a tough uphill battle. GO VOLS! I still believe in Bruce!!!!

This team isn't good enough to go far. If we make it out of the first round, it'll be more thanks to a lucky matchup than anything else.

You are wrong. Bost fell and "travelled" because he came off a spin and wasn't prepared for Williams' presence. If you actually take the time to watch it again you will be red in the face. That's how it went down. I've watched it 5 times since I saw that you blamed Williams. Bost had blown past Goins and the lane was open. He fell after he made contact with Williams hip. This is indisputable.

Ok. Whatever. I'm done, we lost, and we're 17-12 and .500 in the SEC. Who cares. We aren't that good, period.

lol @ you thinking Bost blew past Goins though. That is hilarious considering he was literally falling down.

I'm assuming you still haven't watched it again, yet. This is indisputable. He spun off Goins at the 3 point line and didn't fall down until he ran into Williams in the middle of the lane. Don't feel bad, it's pretty normal to badly misremember such a quick event. You're just insane for insisting that you are right. Just watch it again before you open your mouth and embarrass yourself further.

The team stinks for the talent they have. Maybe we are not substituting enough. Maybe we need to recruit some more coaches' sons. Wait - one made a layup. Forgot to cover his man and double down and box out several times - but that's OK because he tries hard -right? Can't/won't shoot open 10-15 foot shots - but it doesn't matter the other team doubles our best player(s) because of it. All that matters is he tries hard and brings energy. So does the Energizer Bunny and he shouldn't play either. The talented recruits sit the bench when they could be getting his and others' minutes. The starters sit the bench so they don't play over 30-32 minutes per game more than one game in a row. How is all that working out?

Can't wait for spring football practice.

This isn't primary school where everybody gets to play no matter how bad they are. Shorten the dang bench to 8 or kiss it all goodbye.
