There's 4 reason's we were beat, and one common theme:
1. Didn't stop them on 3rd and 20
2. Didn't stop them on 3rd and 15
3 Didn't stop them on 3rd and 10
Finally

4. COULDN'T STOP THEM ON 4TH AND 8 WITH 2:15 TO GO

Hats off to Crompton, came in gave the team a boost and played his A*** off, but the defense didn't step up.

In terms of being the better coach TONIGHT, I am suggesting that the fake punt was an obvious call to those of us watching the game where I was and yet Fulmer, Chavis, etc. seemed oblivious to the fact that it was a distinct possibility.

Also, we never figured out how to defend against Russell's short screen passes, which got at least 8-10 yards each time, AND usually a first down. At what point were we going to determine that we needed to prepare for this play which gave them major advantages in third down conversions? And by the way, did anybody notice how may times we converted on third down?

Just some thoughts.

I disagree too.With that talent LSU has they should be undefeated.I think LSU might be the worst coached team in the SEC.

If Fulmer was coaching them, they would be have one loss at worst.

It sounds like sour grapes to say that, but it may be true. LSU is loaded with talent, but it's amazing how much LSU breaks down mentally with turnovers and penalties.

Key stats.....Again, the better team won, and should have dominated the scoreboard as well... No excuses, our defense played too many snaps, and were just could not make a critical stop.

They out manned the Vols at what seemed like every position and if not for their mistakes they would have killed us.
